To answer your question, the AE has 227hp vs. the standard 225 for a 5th gen, a body kit, different headlights, pedals, and shifter ****. A host of aftermarket goodies basically.

Wrong. All 2001 Maxima's came with 227HP, an increase of 5 from 2000.

wrong.. all 2000 and 2001 maxima's came with 222 hp.. only the AE had 227 hp
