Just freakin race, you will take him by half a car, watch you idiots watch.

unless the maxima driver starts the race @ 5th gear or reverse I don't see how he can win

Here is what I told em:

Man oh Man, you will NOT win unless an act of God blows the Maxima engine (won't happen, built very well) or he is the worse driver you can find behind the 5spd. Just look at specs. Here are the ones on your Cav, just to let you know, 0-60 for his car Stock is WAY under 7 sec.

Performance Stats, z-24

0-60: 7.70 sec
1/4 mi: 15.90 sec
60-0 braking: 158.0 feet
80-0 braking: 274.0 feet
Skidpad: .82g
Slalom: 61.80 mph

Also, here is a car with the same 1/4 time:

98 Neon R/T 2.0L I4 150 hp 7.5 sec 15.9 sec 156 ft .82g 60.8 mph

An AutoMagic Maxima is faster then the Z24.

Still not getting it

Ok, look, I drive a 1997 Sunfire GT, which is supposedly faster than the Z24, and I KNOW for a fact that he'll get his *** handed to him. I've got an intake and exhaust and I can barely hang with my roommate with a 1991 SE. He's reminded me SEVERAL times that his generation of Maxima is one of the slowest ever.

I can't believe that they think they're going to win. One thing I hate about my board is that they all gang up on rice boys when a lot of them have the same mentality.

Hell, there are some guys that think they can run with Camaros Z28's and Mustang GT's with just an intake and exhaust.

Oh well.

hahahahahahahahah

I use to own a 96z24. They are decently quick, but not as quick as my 95SE AUTO!!! I mean they are not put together well, have reliability problems and don't look as good now as they did 4 years ago.

I was a memeber of that list at one point. I think that my response I left over there will get them worked up a bit...oh well!

The car they have is nice...but not in the same class as ours. We have a bigger engine that has more power when you need it, not at 6k like theirs!

Those guys are nuts. At least there are some Z24 owners that are going along with the truth instead of trying to save face by owning a Z24.

yes teh man is right..

the 95 was the fastest to 60 = 6.6 (magazine test)
the 2k was the fastest 1/4 mile = 15.1 (magazine test)

the 95 1/4 mile was 15.2
the 2k 0 - 60 was 6.7

This guy is in waaaaay over his head. Check the last reply...its an AE!

One of my buddies has a '99 Z24 5speed and that thing is suprisingly quick. He rad a 15.9 at the track...but he also missed 3rd gear. He could take me....but thats it.

I cant wait for the results of this race. Its gonna be a bloodbath.

My dad has a Grand AM GT 5spd, 1996 model. It has the 2.4L engine the Z24 guys have. I ran BRET89SER with it when he was down here a long time ago. Let's just say he defintely got beat, and he got beat bad. Also ran him on the highway and the GrandAm just pulled away from him slowly. That engine is very loud but is surprisly quick. I would not underestimate those cars guys. I ran one back in my 2000 Maxima, he had intake and exhaust, I still beat him, but I could not pull away till 70 or so.

Well just wanted to add my 2 cents i really dont know why the hell maximas are getting such mad props from u guys i have raced several all different years in a my lioghtly modded 97 Z24 and dude they arent really all that my best ET to Date is 14.97@ 91.23 mph and that was good enough to beat a friends bone stock 01' 5 speed by a 3 cars so lightly modded maximas running low 14'shigh 13's thats just plain wrong even with a proffesional driver like the guys from motor trend the best a bone stock 5 speed is gonna run is a 15.1 so your average joe is is prolly gonna add at least 2-4 tenths by added tire spin and not power shifting so that means mid 15's which is hella capable by any Z24 ..... so good luck bro it should be a could race

Then he hasnt been racing the guys on this board then. I have YET to see then hit 14's. I see them run high 15's and low 16's at the track.

I am not under estimating them, i'm sure there are some really quick ones. Its kinda like the same boat us Maxima guys are in. Everything thinks we are slow but when one fo us beats this or that we get hassled about it. I'll tell ya one thing, i know i wouldnt get beat by this guy.

If I only had the money

Hehehe, man, if I only had the money...hell, I don't think I could wait for the warranty to run out before I SC'd it.

By the time I have any money to spend, I'll hopefully be able to get the new 240hp Altima. That looks like an incredibly sweet car, but being a Human Resources major, I'll probably only be able to afford the SE-R VSpec. That sounds dissappointing only in relation to the new Altima.

The only thing I dislike about the current Maximas (other than the beam rear axle) is the looks-too-much-like-a-neon tail lights. Other than that, it's one of my favorite cars.

Don't let the beam axle fool you. It allows the tires to stay planted. Much grip.

HAHAHA,

Even die-hard pontiac/GM fans hate the Aztek. What a POS. Did you hear that GM is ****ed at dealers? Apparently they're hiding their stock of Azteks behind the dealership or burrying them in the center of the lot so they're hard to find. They'll even admit that they're embarrassed to be selling them.
So GM starts this push, forcing Pontiac execs to drive Azteks and tell everyone who asks that it's the best car ever. That's about the time I'd ask for a transfer to Opel or something.

I hate GM, they're the most Bass Ackwards company I've ever seen. In fact, I despise the entire American auto industry. There's not a single American car, other than the Z06, that even gets me the slightest bit interested.

Well we just raced. It was raining, so we were rolling. We slid everywhere, but by the time I finished 2nd gear, he was 4 car lengths in front of me. Damn, those cars are quick. Oh well, at least I race.

My 93 SE got hit by a frigging Pontiac salesman driving an Aztek, I damn near burned down the local Pontiac dealership! Did improve the looks of the Aztek a bit however.

Lol:

I overheard this sales man trying to sell one to an older gentleman, and said it does this, has a tent, cooler, bla bla bla. The man replied. "I don't care if it turns into a boat!. I'm not buying that!"

One of the funniest things I've heard in a while!

That's the American way. Give you the least for your money. And they wonder why the Germans and the Japanese are taking all of the business.

I'm sorry, but the only adult who could possibly come up with anything remotely close to the horror of the Aztek is Homer Simpson.

I refuse to believe that you remain friends with the offspring of a person involved in putting that thing in production. You lie.
