D2 Pics and initial impressions...

Ok, so I bought a used set of D2's off ebay almost 6 months ago and just got around to installing them on my car about a week ago. The ride is definately much stiffer than stock, my girlfriend and all others who have ridden in my car have compared it to a roller coaster. The stiff ride being the only downfall, I love these coilovers both as far as looks go and handling. I live in Houston so we have some pretty bad streets. I have to be careful, but so far it has not been so bad. I love being able to take curves (on/off ramps) at almost double the speed as stock, it adds another dimension to my car. A lot of people have commented on the clunking noises, which I experienced as well but only for a short period of time. I kept an eye on the rubber boots, and they ended up ripping after less than a week of driving even though I slathered them in grease. The clunking started when the boots had ripped, but for some reason a few days after the clunks and pops started they stopped and I have not heard them since. So far so good and I have detailed pics of the install so if anyone needs any help or has any questions feel free to PM or email me. Below is a link to some updated pics of my dropped car. Oh yeah, I need to get my car aligned and if anyone knows a good place to get one done here in Houston please let me know.
Thanks!!

do you know your spring rate??

I have had mine on for about four months and I love them. I would suggest you really tighten down the alan screws on the bottom bracket, and get some extra screws for it as well. I have a alan key socket set and I broke the 6mm key tightening them down

other wise in a week they will loosen slightly and you will get a popping sound along with a front end vibration because they are flexing. also I would raise the car a hair because they will settle quite a bit.

well the ones I got were used, not brand new so i'm thinking they probably shouldn't settle much. As far as those allen bolts go I tightened the bejeezus out of em with a husky soket set I hbought that comes with a handy handle you can put on the allen wrench so you get a frim grip on it and can tighten it alot better.

Looks good, nadeemp8.

I installed mine about 2 months ago and have a question. For each rear coilover, it came with what look like 2 bumpstops on a metal cylinder. How did you install these? I put both of them under the top mount but I was wondering if only one should be under the mount and the second one on the top.

I also put that under the top mount. It looks like both should be together as the metal cylinder in the middle of them goes up through both of them. Also the stock bumpstops were similar in this manner and went under the top mount, so that's what I did. I haven't heard any noises from the back yet, so I think it should be ok.

Sorry I couldn't explain it better. Pics of yours would be great! Did you do the install yourself or did a shop do it?
