wheelskins...

well my steering wheel is falling to pieces. all the leather is rubbing off on my hand when i drive. I remember seeing someone with a nice altima steering wheel, but that will be a little pricey.

WheelSkins offers two-tone leather wraps for all kinds of car. Im wondering fi anyone has gotten on of these. Im wondering if i should cut the old leather off or just wrap it over top of it.

I like that color combo, it matchs my redlinegoods boots!

Thanks guys!

I'm having the same problem on my 96 GLE steering wheel... I was looking into wheelskins the other day... they run 30 bucks, so 50 bucks for a new steering wheel isn't so bad ... except I don't want to mess around with the airbags... anyone want to help me out with the swap or "is there a howto"

No, they have good directions. It takes time and patience, but it's definetly worth it. It matches great and very easy to clean. I liked it so much, I bought one for my dad's accord.

Here's mine:

I too have wheelskins two tone (black and grey). They are not hard to sew on at all. Alittle time consuming, but not hard. Once on, it will give your stearing wheel a nice thick feel. Plus they are real leather.

Hmm... so both of your (felix and NABU6) just put it right on top... I wasn't sure how it would look where it goes over the center arms of the wheel (near the horn).. but from the pic, it looks fine... I might have to bite the bullet and get one of these...

Got it... so you didn't have any layer to remove... i'm debating whether I'll pull the old leather off.. I don't think I can really, otherwise I won't get coverage on the arms near the horn... since they are covered with a one-piece leather that also covers the wheel...

I know you get leather wrapped wheels if you have the leather interior.. but not sure if its part of any other package.

I had the euro two tone for a while. It's a high quality item, especially for the $38 I paid. But, the light gray started to get stained so I took it off. I may replace it with an all-black one though.

Crappy pic:

They do custom skins too. The first one for my dad's accord was too loose, so I had to measure the steering wheel and they made it and repalced for free.

If you take Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to it, it cleans very well. Comes out looking brand new.

Ive done this on 2 different cars, one was my taurus which had no leather and I just put it on...the other was my moms mystique which I had to cut and tear off the old leather...both were very tedious and the needle and pulling thread killed my hands..but it was way worth it!

Yea, my steering wheel is rotting too. How do you stitch around the parts of the steering wheel where the inner part connects to the outer part (I don't think I could've been anymore vague - even if I tried)?

EDIT: also, how long does it take to ship???

When looking at the AVAILABLE COLORS on this link (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...spagenameZWDVW) Which color do you think will go the best with a two tone theme for a tan leather interior. I'm thinking of doing black on the sides, and -what other color- on the top and bottom to match the interior?

*The ghettofied shift **** is gone in favor of a chrome/black raptor style *****
