I don't have a 5th gen, but I still had the next gen 1, 2, and 3 SFCs installed by Warpspeed. I just so happened to stop there on my way down to Maxus.

If you want these so bad make a nice road trip out of it or maybe stop by there if Maxus is held in Texas next year. They don't have alot of people working there it's just Dallas and Mike doing most of the work. Also they mentioned about moving to a bigger shop near by, so that coupled with the many orders they get is probally tying up their time.

regardless of what their situation is...not replying to customers (especially those with money in hand) is not worthwhile business practice. If they can't make the product, they should at least let everyone here know that they can't make it at the moment.....

btw, Texas is about a 20 hour drive from here.....That's about $350 in gas money round trip....not exactly worthwhile when any master welder can make these - just a matter of finding the right shop.

Well it worked out for me, I killed two birds with one stone on that trip to Maxus. Whats odd is that they answered everyone of my phone calls and I never had to wait to talk to Dallas.

IIRC Also they had to fab up some stuff for my car on site, so it was better that they installed it than some other shop not familar with the product.

There is nothing at all special about the welds on this product. You could teach yourself to weld them in about 30 mins of practice. The only tricks here are getting the lengths cut correctly and installing them correctly.

Agreed. I learned to weld aluminum within minutes with a MIG welder from Home Depot after being shown a couple times by a guy who was a novice himself. Granted, my welds looked like sin, but nothing a little grinding couldn't fix. More importantly, the welds never broke. Welding steel should be even easier. Ahh, I can see it now... First the ghetto air box, now the ghetto SFCs.

If you don't want to chance it, then I don't see why a muffler shop won't do it if you ask nicely (and pay them). Just have all the measurements done beforehand and set in a jig so that all they have to do is come in and weld the pieces together. They won't do it if you walk in with a bunch of random pieces and they have to wait while you sit there making adjustments and fittings.
