The average price of a supercharger kit from superchargersonline.com (http://www.superchargersonline.com/superchargers.asp) is $4352.
Someone is currently making the bracket that holds up the SC. That is the biggest custom part. With that, a normal Vortech V1/V2, custom oil drain plate and a few off the shelf parts you could make your own.

They werent selling enough and so they had to pull it. I read a lot of problems kept occuring with their kit. No big deal to me, you can get the same gains with a VQ35 swap, but have more reliability on your side (once all the nicks are worked out).

The $4352 price from superchargersonline is the average price of all the kits they advertise, and include kits for Hondas and other imports.
So the Stillen price of $3700 (I'm not sure if that is still current, but it was that price for a long time) is a real bargain in comparison. It is by no means overpriced.
I heard a month ago from one of their dealers that they are officially out. apparently the week popole heard about the discontinuing they sold their remaining 30 or so units almost back to back.

I was because I didn't realize when you said Vortech you were talking about all Vortech kits, not just the Maxima kit. I thought you were saying the Stillen (Vortech) kit for the maxima was $4425 and the average price of ALL sc kits at superchargers online was $4352. I took that to mean that the stillen kit was $73 more than the average, thus my sarcastic comment that it was $73 overpriced. I realize now though that was not what you meant

Not sure about the "selling to someone else" but yes they're discontinuing the Maxima kit line.
