temp goes up with accelleration

The temp needle rises when accelerating. Here's what's been swapped already:

Water pump
thermostat
hoses
coolant

I don't have access to the car (it's my friend's car). I'm assuming the mechanic checked the fan operation, and hoping he bled the system. What else could cause the temp to rise under load? Could a passage be blocked and require a power flush?

Could be a blown head gasket, the combustion gasses increasing the coolant temp. With the car at idle, VERY CAREFULLY remove the radiator cap using a heavy rag or towel to get a grip on it. With the cap off, observe the coolant level and check for bubbles. Then, slowy bring the engine RPM up. If you see bubbling, then chances are the head gasket is shot.

And also very annoying when the mechanic is being bombarded with "Check this.... It might be......." so much that they can't do their job.

Its not surprising really, I now doubt my Mechanic after he only JUST noticed after '000s spent that my Cefiro is the VQ30DE rather than the VQ20 or VQ25.. "Oh didn't know they came in 3litre"
