i think spec clutches suck worse than exedy clutches. but when it comes to customer service spec owns exedy.

I have SPEC stage II and I don't have any probs with it. It holds my 100-shot just fine. I guess the only thing I have to comment on is that it grabs really quickly (depending on the situation, this can be a positive or negative); but since I have only limited experience with other aftermarket clutches, I can only compare it to stock. Also, the clutch pedal isn't too firm, which I like.

ive been running a Spec clutch also for about a year. No probs so far and am happy with it. I have 2 customers using Spec clutches, 1 is supercharged and 1 is juss NA bolt ons. Both are happy and not complaining.

I had the SPEC Stage III in my Legend Coupe, and I loved it. I'm not sure if the same effects would be for the Maxima, but I can hardly see a major difference. It's going to all come down to price IMO. Hopefully you can keep that down and compe***ive.

i had spec's stage 2, slipped after a little over 5 months. didn't bother about that 1-year warranty to replace it. i'm like ripping it up at the track, thus i slipped the clutch easily. however, Spec's clutches have light pedal feel, and i like it. so i already bought a stage 3 clutch from Spec again. it will go in my car next week.

the throw-out bearing that comes with the clutch kit doesn't fit ours, our bearing housing is too small for Spec's bearing. i would like to suggest that whoever installs a new clutch to also replace the factory throw-out bearing. it's about 40 bucks from the dealership. do this as a must if the bearing has worked more than 100kmiles already.

spec is like factory "feel" replacements with better gripping materials. they are made to feel like factory clutches with light pedal feels. but still managed to top out the needed performance. i also learned that SPEC clutches are well respected out there in other car communities. my MR2 friend told me their best clutch kit to get is SPEC. Mustangs are also big about SPEC's. i am sure to have missed some other major shots. this clutch, however, is very sensitive during the installations. got to make sure there is absolutely nothing between the friction plate and the flywheel's friction surface. or else, chatter is likely to occur.

sweet. here on the org i've heard people complaining that their SPEC clutches tend to slip. i'm in search of a new clutch soon, and deciding between exedy and spec. i like the factory clutch feel, wouldn't want more pressure for a daily driver. do SPECS engage smoothly as well? like stock does... because my centerforce i can hardly engage smoothly, feels like i suck at driving stick.

spec's up to stage 2 engage very smooth in my point of view. espeically after break-in. i am about to get my stage 3 in there, so we'll see about that. but so far those who's got stage 3 says that it engages harsh in the beginning, after break-in, it improved alot on the drive feel. hope this helps

I strated to consider SPEC because I have a lot of friends that have chevy and ford drag cars and a lot of them love the SPEC set up so I started to look into them. My next step was to see if you guys like them and so far it sounds like you do. Thanks for the feed back guys keep it coming.
