i read that with increase if exhaust piping diameter, the resonance also increases. so if this holds true, i plan on increasing my catback piping from stock to 2.5 inches. how much louder will that be? btw, i have a dynomax turbo muffler with the resonator removed. so how much louder will that be? have a guesstimate? thanks

and also, the loudest my exhaust gets is up to 2.5k rpms. will the peak resonance also increase with increased piping dimater too? i hope so.. thanks

The increase in pipe diameter will increase the amount of resonance you hear, but the Dynomax Super Turbo is pretty quiet. I don't think you'll find it offensive. Resonance will still peak at around 2500 rpm.

is the dynomax super turbo muffler really that quiet? i havent heard a max with a catback so i dunno how loud loud is... but all i have is the muffler and the resonator removed but im still able to set off car alarms... and thats considered quiet? i want it louder though

Louder than a Dynomax Super Turbo. Try it. You'll like it.

k, gotcha! i was thinking of going with that first but the shop i went to suggest me NOT to get it because it wouldnt sound good, so i went with the dynomax, cheaper too...

btw, does the resonance on all aftermarket mufflers and catbacks and whatever else you might have still on ur car still peak at 25oo rpms? if so, why?

I'm not sure why, but it was the same on my previous Altima 4 banger. Maybe someone with an engineering background can explain it.

ok for anyone who does care, i did my piping today. i put on a 2.5 inch pipe with crimped bends and now my car is a lot louder, so is my intake, more air flow? i think so. compare to just the muffler, the piping increased noise by about 2x.

i can tell that there is a little in performance gains, but i ususally cant tell anyways...bad butt dyno. but from the sound of my intake, it is louder at redline then beofre, and im sure thats from more air flow, and with more airflow, there should be more power. so, i would definately say there are some gains, cant wait till the y-pipe now.
