Damn if i had 600 laying around i would get this.....

kenji 04-23-2006 09:56 PM

ha ha yes we do. :ban2: the best part is hearing that coming at the most established maxima brake modder on here..

nice slotted now! the matt blehm wish list just got longer. I see you finally read my pm :)

d_warner 04-23-2006 10:59 PM

How'd you swing that candy red powder coated caliper Matt? :buttkick: BTW, give me a call tomorrow evening and get me your new number. Jamie said there's some things we need to talk about. My cell number hasn't changed.

The Law 04-24-2006 01:43 AM

hey matt so if im reading this correctly if i get the 6th calipers and the 2pcs rotors i would have to shave a little bit of the pad if i were to install this onto a 5.5gen? thanks

The Law

kenji 04-24-2006 06:37 AM

matt's out of town a couple of days

donate and SEARCH
and get your free gas card

Matt93SE 04-24-2006 07:06 AM

Warner, those are Mike's old calipers. Wanda didn't like the brakes because every time she forgot she wasn't in the Altima, she nearly locked up the brakes and hit her head on the steering wheel! :bill: She had me put the brakes back to stock and I gave her a good price on the whole setup to use for display pieces.
I'll PM you my new cell # :)

TheLaw, yeah.. there's threads on it somewhere. you have to trim about 1/4" off the bottom edge of the 6th gen pad, but they will bolt right on after that.

well if matt was out of town then he wouldn't have posted half an hour after you did:buttkick: unless he had internet connection at where he was. also i already know that 6gen calipers fit with 6gen rotors but i never read anywhere besides this thread that you had to shave down the pad unless i missed it but whatever gets you happy about trying to flame go ahead. also not everyone can fork over money to donate.

thanks for the help matt. i was just making sure that i had the info correct. you'll be getting my business when my rotors give out.

kenji 04-24-2006 08:49 AM

he is out of town. his flight got delayed. I wasn't flaming I was letting you know how to search AND get a free gas card. :)
trust me if I was trying to flame you'd know. and this thread would be locked.

Kevlo911 04-24-2006 09:50 AM

Man I really need these. Regular rotors are way to fcking heavy...

kenji 04-25-2006 09:04 AM

what you rollin on kev?

What happened to your sig?

rbrown81 04-25-2006 10:01 AM

Matt

Email me back when you get a chance. I wanna do that nice red powdercoating job on mine... Or pehaps even the bronze from the G Calipers... Whatever is easier to match in caliper paint.

Matt93SE 04-25-2006 06:45 PM

Rich, already hit you back. :)

michaelnyden 04-25-2006 06:59 PM

hmm....ever a chance of a GD on these? and would how much extra would the slotted disc option cost?

Matt93SE 04-25-2006 07:25 PM

If I get 10 people that want them, I'll be glad to do a GD for them... get them together for me and I'll do $500 a set.. :)

Crossdrilled will be $20 additional.

michaelnyden 04-25-2006 07:27 PM

no I meant slotted....

$500 a set would be great...!

Matt93SE 04-26-2006 07:12 PM

Freudian slip. I meant slotted too. :)

get 10 buyers and I'll go 500.

rbrown81 04-26-2006 07:17 PM

Matt

Whats the deal with the up and coming 2 piece rear rotors? Gimme the DL!

Thanks Buddy

Matt93SE 04-26-2006 07:27 PM

no 2-pc rears are on the plan. due to the design of the drum parking brake inside the rotor, nobody will make me a hat unless I make it out of cast iron, and at that point there's no weight savings, thus no reason to spend that kind of cash on custom discs.

rbrown81 04-26-2006 07:49 PM

I thought you were going to make 2 pieces for the rear also. I know that you would need a special design for the use of the internal park brake mechanism, but what about 2 pieces for use with the stock rear caliper?

Also... a quote from www.blehmco.com

"Coming Soon--Front and Rear 2 Piece Rotor Set
I'm also working on producing a 2-piece rotor set for the front and rear for you hardcore folks. Keep checking back!"

:noes:

MrGone 04-26-2006 07:51 PM

I think post #98 explains it pretty well.....

Matt93SE 04-26-2006 07:55 PM

shawn.. nail.. head...

getting one produced for the rear really isn't in the plans after doing some research on it. for the thousands it costs to get it developed, I'd sell only a tiny handfull and it wouldn't be a smart business move on my part. As much as I like coming up with new goodies for the community, I don't plan to do it at a financial loss.

the rear rotors can't be made much larger without making a custom parking brake cable for them due to the length limit of the cable. you can't even remove the stock caliper from the rotor without disconnecting the parking brake cable. very annoying. If you REALLY want to make them, you can contact Coleman Machine and givce them the dimensions.. they'll make a one-off set for you for about $850.

also realize I haven't had time to touch my website in almost a year. I unveiled that site the day before I left town for Maxus '05 and haven't had time to touch it since!

rbrown81 04-26-2006 08:03 PM

Hahaha

Its okay. Im just trying to figure out whats doable and what is not. Unsprung savings make me :naughty:

Thanks for the input!

michaelnyden 04-26-2006 08:10 PM

there probably isn't 10 people total that would be serious enough to lay down $500 for these rotors...as most people with maxima's aren't hardcore enough! too bad, I would love to get a $100 price break!

Matt93SE 04-27-2006 05:45 AM

yeah, that's my issue as well. I had tons of interest when I had this stuff developed and laid out about $7k of my own money for these... now I have 12 sets in stock just sitting in the shop. I've sold three sets total out of the 15 I initially bought 10 months ago!

Kevlo911 04-27-2006 06:34 AM

Let me get this LED business running and I will prob buy a set ;)

kenji 04-27-2006 08:32 AM

Matt, as you know I'm down for these. So 500 for blanks and 520 for slotters?

I'll even start a list:
name blank or slotted
1. kenji - slotted
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

edit: maybe if we can get this list to the halfway mark, it'll warrant starting an official GD?

kenji 04-28-2006 10:21 AM

Bump... ouch noone's down for some killer rotors?

Matt93SE 04-28-2006 10:25 AM

you're beginning to see the light. :\

Kevlo911 04-28-2006 10:26 AM

Make a new thread and make it in the 6th gen forum :wall:

Jeff92se 04-28-2006 10:30 AM

If you are that interested in reducing your unsprung weight, dump the heavy G35 coupe 18s IMHO. The weight is even more towards the outside than any rotor would be.

Zack342 04-28-2006 10:43 AM

You do know that the M45 and the new 06 350Z's use a 12.6x1.1 rotor as well right. i have not been able to check all the part #'s but i wouldn't be surprised if they were the same. Maybe you can start selling to those guys to help reduce your price since they are more likely to invest in this added braking. If you willing to ship me a set i will test fit them on my brother M45 and snap pics for you and ship them back (you pay shipping both ways off course).

michaelnyden 04-28-2006 10:47 AM

I'm down...but I am trying to get some local maxima guys interested so we can hopefully do a group deal to get these rotors cheaper...

Kevlo911 04-28-2006 10:54 AM

Does anyone have the updated version of FAST? I only have 2003 and I would also like to compare partnumbers for various new parts.

kenji 04-28-2006 04:47 PM

Where's DAVEB when you need him?

I think matt could find someone in houston to test fit for him.. paying shipping both ways on these doesn't sound that smart imo..

Hey man just trying to be helpful to expand his customer base so he can lower cost> i would only need 1 rotor to try 1 side.

Matt93SE 04-28-2006 06:55 PM

Currently, I don't have the time or resources to ship single rotors all over the country and whore up other forums about my products. not that I wouldn't want to increase my customer base and make some money, but I just don't have the time for it.

Already done.

18.8 lb OZ Ultraleggeras.

michaelnyden 05-02-2006 07:39 PM

no I have the old fast version...sorry...

btw, I just ordered a set of slotted ones...so that leaves one set of slotted if one of you want to pounce on it before it goes...

tripleGmax 06-10-2006 01:27 PM

can anyone say if the 6th gen brakes would fit a turd gen?
