Cefiro Retrofit Mini Write-up

A couple guys have asked me how difficult this was so I figured Id post a few pics of the process. The cool thing with the cefiros is that you dont have to cut the reflector out to fit the projectors in. From the beginning;

1: The old oven trick to get them apart (about 15 min at 275)

2: Once youve got the lense off unscrew the reflector from the back of the headlight (2 screws)

3: From here simply place the projector in the reflector and add the bezel

My bezels originally held two lights so we dremeled it down to a cirlce.

4: Now for the only real cutting you'll have to do - theres a circular tab going around the back of the housing (just dremel it off)

I bought some JB weld but never had to use it bc everything fit so snug and the bulb holder sandwiched the projector to the reflector. from here it was a little left to right adjustment by hand of the projector but thats about it before the lenses go back on.

Lemme know if you guys have and questions

NOTE: Much thanks to Mad-Max_SE who was the ingenuity behind alot of this

curious....why did you place the projector in from the front and not the back? did you use a shroud?

by opening them from the front we were able to just slide them in w/out cutting out the back. With the cefiros the reflector is independent of the housing so instead of cutting through both the housing and then the back of the reflector we just stuck the projector in from the front putting the bulb holder through the hole that was already cut for the intended h4's.

thanks gtr rider.

heres a pic of the bezel and where we cut it. we actually turned it upside down inside the projector so the flat part was on top (giving it a more menacing look)

oh man thats very nice and clean. cuz some people that do retros get very sloppy. but its cuz of all the cutting. thats great. im not a fan of the cefiro housings but those look nice with that bezel and projectors. i cant wait to find a damn shroud lol my retro looks bad wen u look inside cuz i got aluminum tape as a bezel lol. w/e works the output is awsome so it dont matter. good job

you can get different K bulbs which will change the color but HID bulbs will change color at the different angles that you look at them depending on how good the projectors cutoff is

mine actually look kinda purple at the cutoff but bluish white otherwise

NCSU_MAX first off, they look great. 2nd are you able to adjust you're beam? or has the retrofit cost you that option? i mean can the you still move the beam higher or lower using the adjuster on the back of the headlamp?

thanks guys!

kingofsorrow - once the projector is in the reflector the only movement you have is left to right (actually positioning the projector). Once its in place left to right you can use the 2 screws in the back of the headlight to adjust the height. you should be able to aim them pretty perfectly by doing this.

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=438730

heres some final pic in case you missed the thread. im going to try to have a pic of the beam pattern soon.

thanks NCSU, i plan on putting some 350Z projectors or maybe some Q45 projectors, in my lamps so i really needed to know about control of the beam. once again the install looks super clean, great job.

You get smart with someone bumping an old thread, but if these folks had asked about a Cefiro retrofit, how many times do you suppose they would have been told to "Search"?????......
