well ill reply...heheh

anyways, i think that 3rd gen guy is using the 3Z single turbo from the older Z31 300ZX's. the twinturbo would be way different and super hard with lots and lots of custom fab stuff. The 3rd gen guy has posted on here with pics also.

ok

The 300ZX TT has the same BLOCK as the 92-94 SE maxima's. I don't think a 4th gen swap would be possible with a realistic budget. Even getting it into a 92-94 SE would not be fun, were you gonna put the intercoolers and stuff, PLUS it's RWD and we are FWD!!!!!!

ya

I have a hydraulic ground compacter, it might work. Now what about the RWD thing. OR you could just buy one like me.

Yes, that's it, look at the engineering skills between us. Maybe you could rig some ropes and have handle bars to turn and flip the seat on it's mounts.

Yeah

- My friend got to drive a 3rd gen with a 300ZX TT motor. He said that it was, "f-ing fast."
- Apparently, the kid who owned the car had waterlogged his original engine or thrown a rod or something catastrophic, so he had the 300ZX motor swapped in. It seems like it just fit right on in from what he gathered. Talk about a sleeper!

I think you'd have an easier time getting that engine into a J-30. That was RWD at least.

The J30 used the same VG30DE engine as the normally aspirated 300ZXs, though swapping in a VG30DETT isn't really an option due to limited space in the engine compartment. I have heard of a few J30s with a VG30ET swap from the previous generation Zs however.

I thought the 89-91 Max GXE and SE used the SOHC VG, while the J30 used a DOHC VG, and the 300ZX na used a DOHC VG with variable cam timing, and the 300ZX TT used a DOHC VG TT with variable cam timing up till like 94 or 95 where it lost the variable cam timing, hence the 20hp drop in the 95/96 model twin turbo Z's. I also thought the 92-94 Max SE used a DOHC VE engine, similar to the VG, but not quite...?

If you want the TT engine why not just buy the entire car? The 300ZX TT is an amazing auto.

I can positively say you should read up more on the 300ZX twin turbo, especially the auto ones.

I think the Z TT autos have some sort of launch conrol that sacifices shift quality for the speed of the shift during full throttle launches. It can probably shift faster than most people can!

Re: ok

You are incorrect.
The VE30DE does not have the same block as a VG30DETT

J30 has no less room than a Z32. Remember the turbos are mounted below the engine basically. I bet it could be done pretty easy. Slap a FMIC on there and you're cool.

However, it would still be quite pricey.

The HKS ALC(Automatic Line Controller) tricks the valve body solenoids into sending more pressure. Its like a computerized version of the VB mod.

i'm sorry i know i mixed it up. the VG30DE is very similiar to the VG30DETT, the room might not all be there, but i bet it could be done on a J30 maybe.
