Dynos

I have a 4th gen, but I guess I am asking anybody for a link to a dyno that shows (or not) improvements for 2 things.

Lightened Flywheel
UDP

any car. been looking for a while, but i can find it.

Bear in mind, I am just looking to compare some dynos, regardless of opinions.

thx

No one has ever proven that a UDP shows gains on an A32.

I said A32, but on an A33B, I've seen only one dyno where it showed gains... But it could've been just a variance since it has since happened. Also, they are essentially the same engine, and the UDP does the same thing on each engine, so I call on the UDP.

I can't speak for flywheels since I don't have one.

You won't find any dynos with gains from an UDP simply because they don't exist.

I gained 5whp from installing the UDP.

Were the before and after dynos done on the same machine?

Thanx guys...
I think I've read enough personal opinions on each of the mods.

I am just looking for a dyno, any dyno that will show me the results.

I already have Fidanza flywheel installed and definitely feel the difference from before and after.

thx

a flywheel won't really give you any power..... just give you the power you have more easily.... ie faster reving etc...

I just found something else though.

An article in which a magazine claims that dynoed a 350Z for a flywheel modification and it shows an increase...

http://199.199.151.63/october03/350z_fly/

what do you guys think?

But the flywheel on a Z33 is a smidge heavier than that of your A32.

stock vs. stock?

then aftermarket his JWT at 14lbs vs. mine Fidanza at ... <10lbs according to Cattman's site.

So gains could be very similar.

The closest comparison for flywheels would be jay25's 1/4 mile trap speeds before and after he installed the flywheel. But since he was boosted at the time, it doesn't provide a accurate source. Hnda_etr also dyno'ed with every bolt on including a jwt flywheel, but IIRC the vq35 has a dual mass flywheel and difficult to compare against the vq30. I have his dyno (248whp 6spd) and you can compare that against other cars with similar mods

As for the UPD, I believe scopium did dyno before and after but I'm unsure if it was on the same machine. There is probably some buried in all the information on the org, but it would be hard to find.

You should look in the dyno forums and see if two cars with similar mods and compare those dynos. Or you can wait until I dyno as i've recently installed a fidenza and udp and have the before dyno comparison also

that'd be great!
how soon are you looking to dyno?
what other mods do you have?

also, percentage wise:

Z33: stock = 33lbs, after 14lbs ~ 58% weight decrease
A32: stock = 18lbs, after <10lbs ~ 47% weight decrease

not a huge difference. So the gains could be very similar. 1-1.5 hp off.

01 5spd Original dyno: 197whp/197wtq SAE correction
Intake, Y-pipe, ECU, 18" wheels
Super rich 12.2-12.5 A/F

Mods since then:
UDP, Flywheel, B-pipe, Fuel computer to correct A/F

I probably won't dyno for a bit since dyno shops in my area do not open on weekends, so you'll have to wait patiently.
