Wheels

I have a set of Mille Miglia Evo5's that I like a lot and would like to put them on my 5th gen. The problem is that 3 of them are very scratched up from the accident and I don't know if I can fix them or not.
I don't want to just throw them away.
Here are a few photos:

Do you think a shop can fix them? If so, how much would it cost to fix 3 of them? Fourth one just has a little curb rash that I can deal with.

You'll get a lot of misleading info here since the 'experts' are found in there and it will help weed out the usless posts.

I don't know how much you want to spend, but this place can probably fix them -- $129 each (includes return shipping). Since it will cost about $20 each to ship them, that's about $150 per wheel. Maybe if you shop around, you can find a better deal locally. They have a location in NY, maybe that's close enough to you to drive.

ahh i would first clean them up a bit and see how bad they look. its curb rash.... i mean if there's no bends or anything... i'd just clean em up and mount. why spend that much just to fix edge. plus.... $450/ est to fix. is a good chunk of change. to have.

-good luck,
anthony

I dunno but those rims definately don't look like they will buff out. You should check out some of the rim refinishing threads if you have a dremel, might work and if not can't get too much worse....

I looked at the option of buffing it out but in some sections rash is too deep and even if I make them clean, they wouldn't look right.
Also how would it match the original rims if I send them out to fix? Looking at examples on the website, in many cases finish of the wheels is slightly different from original.

yeah, the rash well looks kinda bad... point taken, just saying looks like the damage is on the rim edge... and not alot on the spokes. ... For me, yeah, I was soooo pissed at my curb rash, kinda like the first ding/dent.... but i think once you're rolling on the street / GSP/ Turnpike, who's gonna notice.

anyways, $450 is about half the price of a full set of 18's. just save up and wait for another set to buy. then set sell or rashed rims later on. - Yes, i love thoses rims too, but they're discountinued, what would happen if you bend one that was just refinished? that would suk bigtime.

As for refinishing, im sure it would be ok, but it would be best to get all redone to have a matching set.
- plus, not sure how future buyer would feel about a refinished wheel(s).

anywas, good post from nadeemp8. try that i guess.

-Anthony
