Insurance questions
I just got a letter from Prudential/High Point insurance sayin that they are canceling my insurance after this period because I "have accumulated 7 eleligibility points:
2/4/05- At fault accident, 5 points
1/29/03- Speeding, 2 points"
Back in August when I renewed, the lady at my agency said that Prudential wanted to cancel my policy, but they put in an appeal because I was losing 2 points the same day I had to renew, so my policy was renewed. Okay. Now the 6 month policy will be up in March, and they arent going to renew....HOWEVER, on the back of the letter is the laws applying to insuring people in NJ. One of the points of the law says that they can refuse to insure anyone who has accumulated 7 or more points within the last three (3) years. That means that on 1/29/06, those 2 speeding points "go away" and dont count toward my total points, and therefore, renewing my policy in March, I should only have 5 points. Is that correct? Im going to call my office Monday, but I just want to make sure I am not misunderstanding this.
