Stock Hood weight: 42 pounds
Carbon Fiber hood: 17 pounds

the stock hood shocks will have to be removed, and/or changed to a lessor pressure rating, due to the reduced weight of the hood.

stock latch will work fine, hood pins NOT necessary. but might prevent lift at 120+ mph. suggestion: emergency latch cable, $10.00

Cheston,
Good job on the group deal. What's the emergency latch cable? This is what came into my mind....Is it like you are going 120+ mph and the CF hood pops open. You head for this handle in the car to pull the hood back down. LOL The thing better have some crazy *** pulley system or you would have to be superman to pull hard enough for the hood to close. I don't know. School me please Cheston!!!!

i was think Eject handle, but that would be a waste of $500.

the cable is this:
hardened steel braid, with a clip at the end that you attach to one end of the car frame and the other to the the hood..

so if the latch DOES snap, the e-cable will prevent the hood from lifting too high.

else. hood pins. but eh.
