With the maxima (I have a 97) when you lock the doors with the remote, the lights blink, but the horn does not beep.
Do the fifth gen maxima's do this?

The reason that I'm asking is because my sister just bought a 99 Altima GLE and when she uses her remote to lock her doors, the corner lights blink and the horn give a quick beep. i was in shock the first time I noticed that...how come the max doesn't have this?
Can we add it with the stock system?

 

Not to familar with the 97 but the 2k does beep when you lock the doors. It is also programble to have it not beep at all. Maybe yours does the same and you just need to program it to do so. On the 2k remote you have to hold the lock and unlock button to toggle between beep and quiet. Hope this helps.

 

Tried that, but didn't work on my 99 Max GLE. Any other suggestions? I heard something about switching a valet button, but I don't know what it was.

 

Valet switches are put in with after market alarms. Factory alarms do not have. I have a 2K with the "beep/unbeep" option, like it. I also had a 95SE that did not.
