well today, I was driving home. just my exhaust and myself i see this crx...90ish probably drive up next to me revvs a little at the stoplight; so i'm thinking, he wants some. well, the light turns green and off we go. i get a good start and he wastes me it deffinately was not a stock crx. well, after he smokes me, he turns on his haz lights, so I'm thinking he wants me to follow him? he turns right, and I follow and flash my brights, but he takes off again. i try to get him to stop to talk, but that doesn't happen. did i do something to scare him off? or what?

what is the low down on "streetracing etiquette"

<old wise fart voice>
Street racing is bad.

Go autocrossing, wussie.

Ok, I'll shut up now. My Saturn couldn't win a street race against a stock Civic EX unless it was from 0-20, so not only do I not condone street racing, for me to try it's completely pointless!!!!!

heh brian...

the only thing your really looking for an answer to is the hazard question, right? its to signify the end of a race...in essence he said, i beat you

i use hazards sometimes if im on the street/freeway and pass a "hooked up" car, ill flash the 4ways to let them know im up for a race if they are. its worked a few times, but the bmw 318i last weekend didnt want none...wuss

Yeah, you can either flash the hazards to signify the end or I usually tap my brakes a few times. That way they know its over and you are not trying anymore. But I don't condone street racing at all!!!! Bad, bad, bad...but fun...NO! Bad, bad, bad.

ooh. well, so he said i suck ;p at least i didn't get the thumbs down. yeah, i know street racing is bad...sometimes at least. if you do it somewhat safely it isn't that bad. but, racing on one lane roads and such...that's bad. we were on a freeway with no cars.

Oh, I wasn't telling you it was bad, more so I was telling myself. I understand when there is no one around, then go for it, but it gets addicting and THEN you have to tell yourself to stop! You know you need to cool it when you get to a lighty and you just hope that you see a modded car pull up to you. Okay, enough. Street racing is bad, mmmm-kay.
