Does the dealer have to prove a mod voids a warranty?
everyone says this is true...but when i went to the dealership about my warped rotors, they said it was my calipers being painted that made the rotors warp (even though there is a tsb out on this issue which means the rotors obviously warp no matter what)...i went to pickup my car and they said they didn't feel anything and the brakes felt fine...i told them to put a person in my car that had any sort of feeling in their body and they will feel it...a service guy came w/ me and said they are defenitely warped...he talked to the service manager for like 15 minutes...they came over to me and told me about the calipers...i told him to prove it to me and he said he didn't have to...i told him that the rules stated he had to prove it to me and he told me i was incorrect

Technically, you're correct. However, this won't help you. If they don't want to fix it under warranty, then they won't. You could pursue legal action, but the total amount of time and money you spend will be far more than cost of the repair itself.
Your other option would be to contact the Better Business Bureau, but this would still be a big pain in the butt and might get you nowhere.
If I were you, I would take my car to another shop and have the repair done (will cost less then having the dealer do it) and just come to terms with the fact that some dealers are a-holes.

The fact is that even though there is no law that says the dealer cannot deny warranty service, most dealers will not repair your car for free if you've modded something that is related to the broken component. A lot of people here with mods will complain complain complain, but they all know the risks that they get into when they mod their car.
You can complain to Nissan USA via the 800 number on the owners manual, or you can request to speak to the Nissan Factory rep, but that is so much trouble you will pay anything just to fix the problem and get as far away from the dealer as possible.

I've already responded to this . . .

I'd submit that getting into a confrontation with your dealer almost never works regardless of how correct your position is. And once the relationship with your dealer has been damaged, it's very difficult to repair.

the only problem they have is that they have to send a digital pic of the warranty item to nissan and if they take a pic of the warranty item that shouldn't have been warrantied because of any reason, nissan will chew them out and they will take a lot of $hit from nissan and their dealership will have to pay for it...so i'm deciding right now if i want big brakes or just new rotors
man, thats though a tough decision. my experience with my dealership told me that when my tranny went out it was due to the tranny cooler but they put it under warranty. I live in costa mesa and took it to Connel Nissan on harbor. I would say just strip off the paint, and get some big brakes later.. so if you do get the big brakes and want to sell it, you will have the originals to put back on. Good LUck!
