Painting rear window spoiler
Painting rear window spoiler
i picked up a 1/2 sized rear window spoiler @ the nyc meet and i want to get it color matched to my car (majestic blue). Not knowing much about paint i thought it would be easy as taking it to a paint shop and having them spray it. So i go to 2 different shops and they tell me it would be very hard to paint something made out of plastic due to the paint not sticking and for them to do it it would cost 100$. i was like your crazy and i have seen this done b4, no way im paying 100$ to get this painted. all you guys with color matched spoilers...can you give me any tips on how/where/what i would need to get this done and how much it cost you guys...
thanks

All the shop has to do is lightly sand the piece, and use this on it: http://www.autobodypro.com/tektips/a...lastic_sec.htm
The Bulldog Bond Flex Tie Coat will let the paint adhere to the plastic. I used this on my Acura Legend coupe when I painted the lower moldings and it worked. You can get it at just about any auto paint supply store
