Max traded for 05 GTO !!

Well after 3 yrs of Max ownership I got the itch for something new and ended up trading my 03 SE for a 05 GTO (new).
It is quite a change , the Max had lots of very smooth power but the GTO is in a whole different league than the Max is..the interior of the GTO is as good or better quality than the Max..getting into the backseat is a pain but once back there it has plenty of room and is very comfy. I may end up back in a Max for a family car sometime , but the GTO fits the bill for a nice /fast cruiser for me and the wife when we want to go for a ride. this has been a great forum to learn new information..in fact I own a Mustang GT convert and Audi A6 also..so I do frequent forums for those cars as well as here..and this is heads and shoulders above the rest..so everyone stay cool and I will holler when I end up back in a Max !

thx Jeff

That's definitely at the other end of the spectrum, but nice pick for a sporty 2+2

Thanks for the kind words guys..I cant leave the Maxima fold for long...Ive owned one since 96... I was really looking hard at the 04 Mustang Mach 1 , which is a beautiful car..but I already have a 98 GT Convert ..so I opted for something different...and the GTO fit the bill.
I have gotten as high as 24 MPG on a tank of gas ..so not bad for that kind of power...Ill have to say if we could get the VQ Motor in my Audi A6 that would be the ultimate cruiser !!!

thx again !

I want some pics! My favorite American car at the moment (even though it's actually an Aussie whip. :P)

Too bad their styling was off the mark and they're stopping production due to low sales. I think they have a good drivetrain (LS1 and now the 400 HP LS2) but I think for it to say GTO on the fender, GM should have gone with more 'old school GTO' styling cues...I hear the car gets a tough time from GTO enthusiasts too.

Holden Monaro = Pontiac GTO. Same car with minor aesthetic differences.
