My cousin has an 89 with 65,000miles. The only problem was that the injectors were bad. Probably from sitting so long. Sometimes it feels like it has more low end grunt than the 4th gen too.

That is one ugly car...I wouldn't get anything older than a 3rd gen I hate then maximas before that. I wonder why they stopped the digital dash after the 3rd gens.....

It's funny cause my buddy "back in the day" had that same looking model, but Jet Black, 5 stars on it, lowered, with four 12's in it and d@mn that thing looked sweet and pounded like a son_of_uh_b**ch... EVERYONE in town loved it Makes me laugh that i look back and compare THAT to my 6th gen i own now.. crazy!

The dash looks like the Starship Enterprise with the old skool silver face and buttons/switches/and *****....

funny

Heheh, I remember my mom's friend had the 2nd gen with the talking feature. Back then I never understood how something could be both a door and a jar at the same time.

My dad had one. Fast as hell back in the day. I had it over 145 with no problems other than the fact that it felt like it was floating rather than driving at that speed.

love the analog equalizer in the dash. I have always been a big fan of the first and second gen. Maxima. They have an old school Japanese look to them that you don't see much of anymore.
