OKay, so I have been looking for a while now, and NO ONE out of the decent manufacturers of diecast model cars makes a maxima or i30 or cefiro model! It has ben driving me NUTS! I want to remmeber my car forever even after the car is gone...plus I collect diecast cars anyway! Sooooo...I just wrote Nissan a little email asking if they would ever consider commissioning some Maxima models, and I said there would be a large maxima fan base interested in buying them. If anyone else agrees, respond here, and maybe we can send them a petition or something. It would be sweet to have an evo line...like...1st-5th gen! (porsche does this)

minimum Maxima

Howdy Lime

you might try

http://ewa1.com/

maybe no Maxima, but if you collect scale models this is a helluva place.
Some pretty expensive, some reasonable.
Kits, magazines and other stuff too.
If you can't find one on the site email them
they might be able to locate one or just not have put it up.

Lime, if you could get me a diecast of a maxima or cefiro I would be forever greatful! I also collect diecast & build models. I have been looking for these as well for awhile now. I did however find a sylvia & skyline online (but I forgot the site )

Just let me know what needs to be done to help out in getting one of these!!

ne1 ever try putting a full size Maxima in a large microwave?

That could shink it down
and it would have amazing detail...

Guess the cost of one of those minimum Maximas would be pretty high though.

since the car is "real", the detail would be accurate

But it would cost whatever the price of a full size car would be.

Guess if it needs explaining it isn't that funny...

Golly, you are so mean.
Here I am slaving over a hot keyboard,
just trying to make all ayall's day that much better,
a little levity to lighten the load,
and all you can do is slam me.
Fine. Be that way.
I won't post ever again.
If anybody wants me, I'll be crying by my computer.

LOL shrinky-dink maximas!
hehehe

OKay well I emailed Nissan. If they don't get back to me, we can create a big pettition poll thingy, and call them and make them look at it!! Yeah! I don't think it's going to be an Exoto, but it should be GOOD, and, IMO, preferably 1:18 scale.

Thank you for LOL Lime.
I feel a little better now.

I would love a die cast 1/43rd scale model of a 4th Gen.
Put me down on the petition/poll thingy.

Sprintmax -
http://ewa1.com/ has Tamiya plastic kits 1/25th scale.
Can't find a Maxima, but they have Skylines for around $20.
Then you could use that body and find some place that can vacuum form the plastic they use for RC bodies around the model.
I figure the 25K cost is mostly for the original model.
But then, maybe you can get a Skyline body anyway...
I think Tamiya makes RC cars too.

ah ha.
that one has been released in Japan for a long time. It comes with a fully detailed 2.5 engine.

It seems to me that the Cefiro sedan is so unpopular in Japan that none of the Japanese model manufacturers cares to make a kit.

I can find all kinds of Silvias and Skylines at the local hobby shop. Sedans, not too many though. Heck! They even have Toyota Trueno!

wahhhh the wagon? what about the sedan? this is why I wrote to Nissan in the USA. The Maxima is VERY popular in THIS country, so perhaps they'd be willing to sell them through dealerships or whatever. Still waiting though. The Japanese folks either like TINY compact cars or crazy sports cars it seems...oh well.

Maybe I'll start a poll.

that cefiro is the older one. A complete different one before the A32. That one is pretty popular in Japan as a drifter.

No engine? That's why I have only one Fujimi kit since I know how to put those pieces together. So, looks like it has only an undertray.

Try Tamiya. I don't think they have any Cefiro though. However, Tamiya has the best 1/24 car kits. Most of my model cars are Tamiya's.

For warplanes I recommend Hasegawa. Tanks/soldiers -> Tamiya again.

Gundam/Macross/..... -> Bandai.

Revell/Monogram is good for its metal car kit.
Ertl -> Star trek! Beam me up Scotty!

Tamiya kits are the BOMB.

I have two 1:24 Revell Porsches and they're okay, but I still haven't finished them, bleh...so time-consuming. I won't finish until winter, when I stop doing real car stuff so much!

How do we make polls? I see the checkmark, but how do we format the message text? :} Yes, I am a dork. I wanna make a poll about yes/no/gen preferences on the model!

I'm gunna call my grandma back in minn and see if that store still exists... Or have someone go over to Japan and bring back a ton and sell them and have a monopoly on maxima models?

I'd be interested in a 4th gen model...preferably the 95/96. I looked for one awhile back also and gave up. If the price/quality was right, I'd consider a 3rd gen model also.

If you guys want the cefiro wagon, you can get on from www.hlj.com, it's about 1500 yen, less than $15... even after shipping via UPS from japan,it's less than $20.
