I found this pic on Cheston's site, I think this is the silver Jamie was referring to in the thread about silver Maximas. Anyone know the official name of this color?

http://www.seas.ucla.edu/%7Efarhana/...k/maxline8.jpg

(Note: I'm a bit colorblind, so if this isn't exactly silver don't stone me to death )

Actually, I think that may be the platinum iris color that was offered in either 95 or 96. I just don't think the "iris" part comes through very well in the photo.

FYI,

I've seen 97s with this color as well, which makes me think it was offered from 95 to 97 or 96 to 97.....

Sterling Mist is darker than that color and I don't think it was available for 95-96.

Sterling Mist was introduced in 1998 because I was originally looking for a Sterling Mist Maxima but found out they weren't made in 1997. Maybe Sterling Mist replaced that color.

That's a light purple color. I don't know what it's called, but I've seen it at Max Day.

Like you can do anything about that. What's that saying, "don't slap the hand that feeds you." Or something like that.

I know that the silver one I saw was a 95-96, but it was more of a true silver color. . . It really looked like a Mercedes Silver, but I don't know if it was custom painted or if it was stock. . . I just know it looked nice and really stood out.

We all know that the Nissan paint is pretty crappy. Is it just Nissan? I have friends that have Toyotas, Acuras, and Hondas, for example, and their paint seem to hold up better than ours. If I can get the money for a new paint job, I might get a silver type of color. The real silver paint like you see on the more expensive cars. I think it would look tight on a Maxima. I thought of the blue color, but think that's a bit played out.

I've got a 95 brocure in front of me, and there is no silver color listed whatsoever. so must be 96 or custom.
