I haven't run my car at the track yet. I'm going this coming Friday. I finally got my window switch to work too. I can't wait!!! The car did something it never did before. It actually chripped the second gear on my auto. I'm not expecting some crazy time. Hopefully mid 14s.

turns nitrous on at a certain rpm and turns it off at another rpm - hence, "window" switch.

upgraded fuel pump, 2 step colder plugs. in my opinion a 60 shot on a stock fuel pump is fine, anymore and i'd get a more powerful pump.

Note: we came to the conclusion that Andi's supra wasn't having one of it's best night's - performance wise. so that's why i was able to hang with him. I'm sure Andi will come and add-on or clarify details i missed.
Conclusion: i was surprised, i thought i was going to get my butt kicked by Loren. and i DEFINITELY did not think i'd hang with Andi.

are there any other cars out there when you do your runs? i'm wondering if one day im going to come up to three maximas on the road lining up for a run....

Tonight at the local racing meet, a couple friends with Maximas asked me to be
the chase car to video their racing on the highway.
Loren's 97 Maxima has a Stillen supercharger kit at 10psi and is putting down
~300hp at the wheels. (note that this is only a 3100lb car). Thomas' 97 Maxima
dyno'd 270 front wheel hp (fwhp) a few weeks ago on a 100 shot of NOS, and this
week he had some tricks up his sleeve (he said just an open exhaust / removed
cats, and added a window switch).
So anyways, we roll out and they race.. I'm starting from behind them expecting
to pull a Clint catchup maneuver as it is of course two Maximas racing that I'm
following... so I just let them start the race and punch it after I hear them
punch it. Thomas' black Maxima with the NOS is pulling steadily on Loren's, but
I'm not catching up to Thomas. They raced a few more times and each time I'd let
them jump then floor it, and I'd catch Loren each time but couldn't catch Thomas
after his jump!
So I get next to Thomas' black Maxima and signal that I want to race him.. 40
punch, my 3rd honk, and oh my God I'm racing a Maxima on the highway in a BPU++
Supra and he's not fading. 120mph and he's ahead of me by a couple feet. By
150mph I'd passed him and had a half a car on him.
Yes, you read that right, a 98 Maxima with open exhaust and an unknown (claimed
100) shot of NOS stayed with my BPU++ Supra to 150. I gotta admit, this was
definitely the most surprising and INTERSTING race of my life...
I also raced a Grand National tonite, from a roll and off the line, and beat
him.. and I raced Jonathan Altschul's BPU++ Supra that I'm usually dead even
with, and he pulled me by a couple car lengths by 120 from a dead stop after I
launched evenly with him if not better. So my car's not running QUITE the way
it should (420rwhp on pump gas if all is perfect), but I'm probably still making
380-390rwhp with whatever problem I have (maybe a boost leak or spark plugs).
So I'd guess that Thomas' lighter Maxima was probably making 350-360rwhp at the
wheels to hang with me.. They dyno 160fwhp stock, and ~185-190fwhp with
completely open exhaust and intake, so I think he had a little more than the
claimed "100 shot" that gave him 270fwhp only a few weeks ago. I'm surprised
that VQ30DE motor in that Maxima is still in one piece.
All I can say is WOW.

Hm...a type on his part I guess. I wonder how fast is a Prelude with a FMAX turbo kit. I heard of a Jackson Racing supercharger for the Prelude, not much about the FMAX kit. I'm sure you, sx7r, can still take him even if he has the turbo.
What is with these news people? First it's that GTI guy, now a Prelude guy. Even if their car is faster, do any of us really care?

High to mid 13's with an FMAX turbo kit on a 5 speed prelude. I may be wrong but its around there.
Some people just cant be level headed and give a family car respect. We all know there are fast MKIV supras, we all know his car wasn't running at full potential and if it was it might have been a slightly different story. BUT the fact that a family car can even hang with one the baddest japanese cars on american soil is impressive! Even more impressive when its got a stock motor and costs half as much brand new AND the MKIV is BPU++.
Some people just cant be level headed and give a family car respect. We all know there are fast MKIV supras, we all know his car wasn't running at full potential and if it was it might have been a slightly different story. BUT the fact that a family car can even hang with one the baddest japanese cars on american soil is impressive! Even more impressive when its got a stock motor and costs half as much brand new AND the MKIV is BPU++.

It mounts good to the rear window so you can get a shot of the driver and gauges, but then you cant move it around to see the car your racing. Its just easier to get a lightweight onboard camera person, such as your girlfriend 
What you REALLY need is a camera mount with servos and a chase car that controls it, then you could get all the action.

lol...you guys are funny. i was just stating what i thought. now that i saw the other videos, i admit, i was wrong. you can't really blame me, these videos here weren't that great. it was hard to tell. about my profile, i just joined this site and i quickly put something in my profile. that was why i made a typo. i should have put it in my signature. 
i do have i/e/h right now. and i just bought the fmax turbo kit, so it's not installed yet. i'm justing waiting for a break from my job so i can install the kit myself with a help of some friends. come on guys, you don't think i'm that dumb. i/e/h w/turbo kit? lol...i actually got a kick out of that one too. sx7r, you got a tight *** car. mad props to you for hanging with that supra. btw, even though i'm a "lurker"(all of you started as a lurker too, you know)lol, i didn't come here to cause trouble. i think you guys have enough problems with them cl-s/tl-s boys. sx7r, what mods do you have besides the NOS? i have to admit, i never seen a maxima as fast as yours. i'm impressed. btw, my gf has a maxima(96 gle), that's why i come to this board in the first place to help her check a few things out. hm...why is her maxima isn't as fast, her maxima is slowwww. i hope she don't see this post. 
i do have i/e/h right now. and i just bought the fmax turbo kit, so it's not installed yet. i'm justing waiting for a break from my job so i can install the kit myself with a help of some friends. come on guys, you don't think i'm that dumb. i/e/h w/turbo kit? lol...i actually got a kick out of that one too. sx7r, you got a tight *** car. mad props to you for hanging with that supra. btw, even though i'm a "lurker"(all of you started as a lurker too, you know)lol, i didn't come here to cause trouble. i think you guys have enough problems with them cl-s/tl-s boys. sx7r, what mods do you have besides the NOS? i have to admit, i never seen a maxima as fast as yours. i'm impressed. btw, my gf has a maxima(96 gle), that's why i come to this board in the first place to help her check a few things out. hm...why is her maxima isn't as fast, her maxima is slowwww. i hope she don't see this post.

i've got all the basic bolt-ons like everyone else - CAI, pulley, full 3" mandrel bent exhaust w/ 3" y-pipe, nitrous mods, and some other stuff i don't remember. where in texas are you located?
