Just curious to see if any of you guys are laser jammer equipped.
I just ordered the Antilaser AL8 with dual transceiver heads, tested to be the top (or, tied for #1) for best performing jammer (www.guysoflidar.com & www.radardetector.net). Can't wait to put this thing on. This thing, with my Valentine 1 will make be stealth.

Hmmm.....isin't it illegal in VA to have "electronic countermeasures" in your vehicle ( Radar det., jammers, etc.) ?
From what I understand, having a laser jammer is helpful, but cops tend to use instant-on radar these days if they got a quota to fill.No warning
Laser, OTH, is expensive versus radar and is quickly detected.
Besides, if you blow the doors off a laser-packin cop at high speed, and he doesn't get a read, he knows your're packin a jammer. And will still pursue you ( or call dispatch for another cop to nail you ) .
In your case, you'd better not get pulled over. Be a shame to spend 100's of $ on something that's gonna get confiscated. So good luck with it

I've never seen cops do instant on radar in VA so far, at least I don't recall. They really don't need to since radar detector's are illegal. Even if they do, the V1 is pretty good with it. It's very sensative and can pick up scatter from cars up ahead..
If I do get pulled over and the cop notices my heads in my grill (this is very unlikely.. his gun would only be jammed for a few seconds max then I'd turn it off after slowing down slowly but steadily to not cause attention) I highly doubt he'll confiscate it. Having a laser jammer falls under the same code of VA as having a radar detector, a pre-payable infraction. They can confiscate it, but they must give it back if you go to court (at least for RD's), but I doubt they confiscate this stuff much since it involves bringing a lot more people to court than need be.
I guess I'll find out what happens if/when I ever get cought. But the chances of everything falling against me (the cop noticing me braking very fast, the cop being informed about his gun possibly being jammed with laser, etc etc) I think are slim.

THey pick places where even if you get scatter from someone else , youre not gonna have enough time to slow down...
That's why most folks don't use jammers( at least in my neck of the woods). All they'd do is give cops a reason to ticket/fine you ( what's that funny-lookin box up there ? That'll be another $55) after showing you the instant-on/radar return. Again, making the point that's the local area for ya. It seems like laser is the weapon of choice in your 'hood.
BTW, I didn't know how serious the confiscation law is over there. I've heard horror stories about people having to bust up their detectors/jammers on the spot after being caught. It would just burn me to have to fork over a $300 piece of hardware , much less intentionally break it.....
I guess if you have to go back to court to get your detector/jammer back, you bought the wrong device lol...

And also, I just found out my AL8 is sold in the UK as a "parking sensor", therefore if I do ever get pulled over for having it, it's just a parking sensor.
These things are also illegal over there, the manual which comes with the jammer is for a "parking sensor" and it also beeps when you get too close to it (for an easy demonstration if the cop wants to see how it works).

It's a bit pricey, but it's proven to be #1. Blinder is more more commercially known brand (and I beleive is only $350 for 2 heads), doesn't quite match up performance wise to with the AL8 however.. http://www.blinderxtreme.com

I also like the signs on I77 saying "speed checked by aircraft" - how do they give tickets, parachute?

Thanx for the info guys...I will take it down next time and watch out for those white lines
also, this might be a retarded question: I was riding in this guy's car in 98 and he had a RD that would allow any communication radio signals to bleed in and play over a lil spkr. So, when you were within 500ft or so of a cruiser this RD would pick up the radio communications...and he would slow down. The guy said he got it from europe...and that you can dial in frequencies and control sensitivity
have any of you guys seen or heard of this b4?
wonder how this would work on interstates with all the CBs

I like Calif. Cameras to nail people abusing the HOV lane. I think all states should invest in cameras which don't have feelings or egos, they just show what happened. I thought MD had speed cameras, why not VA? If you have people just doing whatever they want, breaking the laws, you'd have Philadelphia. Where else do people blow lights and make left turns from the middle lane, or make U-turns to bypass a red-light? It's like a 1970's NYC--that's what happens when there's no enforcement. Law breakers may think it's funny and a playground, but the flip-side in hit-and-run and injuries and worse.

The cameras are correlated with an increase in total injury crashes..
The top camera fines in the country are California's $361 red light camera citation and the $1000 fine for a second speed camera offense in Illinois.

Same thing on I-295N in NJ last weekend (oops, you got me but I still nailed 29.5 mpg). Both cases were 15 mph over the limit. Where does jamming his laser come into play? At 100? 120? 137?
Cameras cause accidents, please. Does that happen at the ATM machine too?
It's proven that red light cameras cause accidents, see:
http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/04/430.asp
Just about every jurisdiction which has tested red light cameras has reported an increase in accidents.
Cops snipe you with laser when they're stationary. I don't know about where you live, but they'd definitely give us tickets over here for 15 over when doing laser. Driving with a cop on the highway I guess is different. Jamming his laser would be very useful for me, it cuts off my stereo and gives me a 100db warning, I slow down, flip a switch to turn it off, he gets a reading, and we both continue on.

In Phila., the meters to get onto the Blue Route do not work. We could write an article to describe that people refuse to alternate merge, therefore these meters accomplish nothing. It's all factual. But the same meters on the LA Freeway system does work. So quoting an article about Philly is relaible, but it is only valid when applying towards Philly drivers. It's invalid when trying to say anything about Los Angeles.
Beverly Hills has a lot of red light cameras per capita. Do you think the Beverly Hills Hotel is gonna allow these so-called accidents to happen in front of their hotel? Do you think Caltrans is going to allow for traffic stoppage on Sunset through Beverly Hills and Brentwood due to accidents caused by the cameras?
imho people who don't like traffic cams are those who want to break the law. That's my opinion, everyone else is entitled to theirs...
I mentioned my last run-in with the police, right? It was with a pot-bellied, high blood-pressured patrolman who had to hand out "click-it" or ticket flyers while standing in the middle of the road. I didn't stop because I wasn't sure what he was doing, and he screamed at me like he were Andy Sipowicz on NYPD Blue. There was an episode where Andy chased someone down and put a gun to his head because he didn't stop. That's Hollywood. I just backed-up and took his click it flyer while he screamed.
This am, I got pulled-over by the NJ State Police on the 42 Expressway late, I'm talking 2+ am. The trooper asked me for my license/registration, and when I couldn't find my license but gave him my reggie/insurance, he told me I was drifiting in my lane and to take a break and have some coffee if I'm tired. No ticket for speeding or anything, I was probably only doing 72 or so in a 65. I just don't understand why people have this innate dislike for the police. Too many CPT/LBC rap songs and Hollywood I guess.

there's really no legal reprocussion for an officer whose equipment is rendered temporarily disabled/inaccurate by a laser jammer. he can still pull you over because you're going really, really fast, though. if you're smart, however, you can just blend into traffic or just get off at the next exit stealth-like and just avoid the cop. if you're going 100+ you should be at least a half mile away before he gets up any semblance of speed.
bottom line, no matter what you buy and install, you still need to be smart about how, when and where you do illegal things. even if you have a great radar and a laser jammer you'll still need to outsmart the cops to get away with speeding.

I know this is an old post, but I just got my laser jammer installed last month, and wanted to let everyone hear my SUCCESS story!!!....
I had just moved to the front of a pack of 10-12 cars in the outer lane; I was running 80 - 85MPH in a 65 MPH zone. Suddenly my Bel STI Driver and Blinder X45 siren go crazy. It scared the crap out of me, I thought I'd been intant-on popped by a radar. The next part of the story all occurs in about 4-7 seconds...
I started looking for the cop trap, but couldn't see it yet. I hard tapped my breaks once and looked for the cop, but couldn't see him. I heard the Bel speak "LASER" and I looked to verify. I quickly continued slowing to about 68 MPH, and then I flipped the Blinder X45 off. I looked up and could now see the cop on the right, in a grassy area, maybe a football field ahead. But, still being at the front of the pack the cop was still trying to lock on me. I'm assuing he finally got a good hit on me at 68mph, cause about 2 seconds later the Bel alert stopped, a few hundred ft. before I got to him.
And I cruised right on by with the biggest smile on my face...totally geeking on the rush I was enjoying.
I'm running a white Infinity I30 with
1) no front license plate,
2) Veil coating on fogs, headlamps, and taillamps,
4) painted black front grill
5) tinted back plate cover
6) On-Track anti-photo cover
7) Blinder M45 - 3 mounted on front (1 grill, 2 under bumper) 1 mounted over rear license plate

I love my Blinder Laser Jammer. It has saved my butt more time than I can count. I did a group buy for them durning the summer and a bunch of peeps jumped on that deal. I have it in both of my cars. They are illegal in some states but the fine is less than $50 in most states for having one... if they can prove it. lol
I would rather take a $50 fine than a $300+ for speeding along with the insurance increases.
