OK you have a brand new MAXIMA, any year. What are the first 5 mods you perform? If someone asked you what to do first to their car. And money is NOT an issue, they have plenty! What would you advise?

This is what i did to my max when I modded it.

1. free mods and intake
2. exhaust, 60 TB, UDP
3. FSTB, RSB, ST springs
4. Protorque torque convertor
5. Ported heads/ISKY cams

Obvously some of these mods won't apply but its in the right direction. My only problem besides a blown headgasket (my fault ) is I haven't touched the brakes. My car if it was running is probably 1.5 seconds quicker than stock and I still use the same brakes. But I have to fix my headgasket before putting on Z32 calipers and rotors.

Kev, nope. I finished all my math.

 

1. Custom turbo with huge intercooler or Supercharger with polished charger and chrome intake pipings.

2. 18" or 19" Volk TE37 or Racing harts C5/C2.

3. Custom coilover from a suspension tuner. Believe it or not, there are plenty of custom coilover out there for the Maxima. But $$$$

3. Get a Custom body kit. Drop the car off Erebuni or anywhere that does custom body kits.

4. Custom exhaust with Mandrel bent pipes and any choice of exhaust tip.

5. Sound systems with LCD, DVD....etc

 

Might as well throw in my $0.04 too..
(this is neglecting the stereo of course.

1. Me: Sway bars. ( HA! I can change my front sway bar!) You: Addco rear sway bar.
2. Me: Intake you: exhaust (won't need intake, see below)
3. Me: eibach/tokico& fstb.. you: coilovers.
4. Me: Rims & tires... you:Rims & tires
5. Me: mild port/polish on heads.. You: full turbo, since money is no object.

 

my best mod was getting the damn car in the first place!

1) upgrade Bike / Parents minivan to 96 Maxima SE
2) Girlfriend upgraded to FSTB and pop charger
3) Rims 17" Borbet
4) Wallet => Gasoline converter (still payin')
5) Air Horns.... LOUD.. air horns.. yeah..

 

If you had asked me this when i got the car, i would have said "Gimme a Bimmer" heh.

but now three years after i started modding the Max, there are so many more mods for the Max, so here's my list if you got a 97 5spd used maxima (i dont like the 99s, they're too restrictive..)


1. Cattman Coilovers

3. Apex'i WS catback
4. UPRD ECU
5. Ypipe.


that setup alone would give around 200 to the wheels. the coilovers would provide enough handling without the stb or rsb, and the exhaust and ecu would give top end power...

why didn't i say Supercharger? Well, after riding in a few auto SC'd maximas, my "wowzer" appeal for it, sorta died.. but that doesn't mean i won't get one if i had the money..

my choices would give a KICK *** sleeper, to top it off, if i had choices 6->10,

then

6. Volk TE37s or SSR integrals with Zs
7. short throw shifter
8. RSB
9. Valentine 1
10. Fuzzy dice.

5) Full Alpine DVD(video/Nav unit)x4 6.5" TV's,Alpine/JL amps all around, x3 12" Eclipse Aluminum subs and Boston Pro highs all around
