Nissan optioning is funny
Nissan optioning is funny
I was toying with the idea of a Z, against everything I know as far as how it drives, performs, fake dual pipes, etc. Because it caught my eye when I went to get an oil filter. I like the discount on this car, but then again, not good for resale.
I kind of like the interlagos paint, and it's cool the grand touring has the track stuff plus the luxury. But it's just totally bizarre that if you want Sirius, you have to get a $600 side air bag option as well. What, so the airbag lamp can start blinking when the car hits 37,000???

It sure is strange how they tie options together. I'm thinking about a 2006 Frontier King Cab. They automatically add a $1000 tonneau cover when you build your Nissan on their website. To get a vehicle security system I would have to buy a Crew Cab. They are nuts.
every car company in the world has been doing this for 20+ years. it's just a fact of life. some companies will offer a "custom built" option if the production line is still running. i know it was available on the lexus GS series when my brother got his a while ago
Yeah, but bear in mind that a lot of times, these "custom" options are in fact aftermarket jobs done by the dealer. So, they can be of better (or worse) quality, fit, and finish than the manufacturer's rendition of the same option. My father's Buick Century Custom had wheel locks (from where, we don't know) some aftermarket alarm system that doesn't work incredibly well, and the list goes on... but the parts were rather obviously not GM-installed... and he got the car new!
Nowadays the dealer has contractors that can do pretty much anything (including putting in a sunroof- can you believe it?) on the cheap...

Same for vipz01max, his car is a GLE, has everything but moonroof, but i can kinda see getting around that, and no heated leather.
