this has been brought up before but there are too many sprint threads to search over... ok, i got my springs yesterday (blue) and im not sure which way they install.. one side of the spring is more compressed where the other side of the spring, the last coil is touching the previous coil, know what i mean? which side is upwards, compressed side or touching coil side? thanks

and also, what does the small piece of plastic on top of the strup assmbly, the paper like piece that goes inbetween the strut and car? is it necessary to have? thanks

The paper like thingy is called a Urathane tube, it is there to prevent sound.

On the rear suspension the compressed side of the springs is the top of the springs{Towards the sky}. I can't remember what I did with the front, I think either way works? I don't know for sure... all I know is mine work great.

Yeah, what he said.

As far as the paper thingy. I think you mean the little paper thingy with 3 holes in it...I dont know what it is, but I left them off and dont have any problems. Leaving them out gives you 1/10 of a millimeter more drop

If you compare the Sprints to the stock springs, you will be able to tell which way they go on. They really only fit right in one direction.

thanks guys....

i just installed them about 30 mins ago, i installed them by myself and took me no more than 3 hours, torqued everything, antiseized all the bolts, and those little paper things, i took them out on my last install and i heard continuous griding noises, so i cut some out from cardboard and replaced it. took the test drive, the ride was still comfortable, absolutely no suspenstion noises but my car does pull to the left now. my front left strut, it is off CCW by about an inch, but i was too lazy to take it back out and redo it so hopefully that will be ok, i will get an alignment friday and hopefully everything will be done! looks great too!

do you guys know how much more it will settle? or will it settle at all? thanks

According to Chilton's (section 8-9) that's a 'spacer.' Why wouldn't you put it back in? Do you think it was put there for no reason to waste money? I don't know what it does, but I would find out before not putting it back in.

the first time i installed, i didnt put it in because i didnt notice it was gone untill i was cleaning up, 3 were on the floor while there was still one on my front right strut. i dont think its a big deal because its just a paper thin piece of plastic and like emax95 said, its only to reduce sound.
