well i thought it was silly to badge it spec - r without a manual box option. then again, what is Spec-R ? Sounds cool but with the hp, weight of car, auto box, and 18 inch wheels that could be very heavy, Im curious as to how much Spec R it has in it ?
HP: 241
Weight: 3,335 lbs.
Big 18 inch wheels

any European model looks better then the one in the US...
From what I heard Nissan didn't go through with the deal.

GM announced on Weds. Oct 4th that
Mansfield News Journal, Mansfield, OH.
it had discarded a scheme to forge a broad, global alliance with Renault and Nissan after the other two automakers declined to pay a premium for reaping what GM said would have been a disproportionate shae of benefits.

well after some thought, in New Zealand and in the Maxima world, maybe this is worthy of being a Spec - R (what does that mean ? lol) Considering the target market for a car like this. The price certainly slaps the younger audience out of the scene.
This Spec R does have the highest HP rating of any Maxima in NZ, will have to check but a Spec -G (grocery getter) 6th Gen Maxima has the VQ35DE with around 227 hp, much less than the US 6th gen at what 265 hp.
So the Spec R has a massive 14 more HP, than a Spec - G 6th gen in New Zealand.
All 5th Generation Maximas here have the VQ30DE-K, which is rated at 222 hp i believe.
Nice looking car, my big question is what is Spec - R supposed to mean, and beyond the Maxima realm, and compared to other cars, are the feautures and performance worthy of a Spec R badging?
If Spec R is supposed to be a performance model, I give it a thumbs down, but the car looks great to me. But as the owner I wouldnt want to buy a Spec R anything and feel like I needed to remove the badge, lol !

Am I the only one who doesn't like the NZ Maxima? I didn't like the 6th gen when it came on the market but it grew on me and I honestly think that it looks sick The NZ Maxima looks a little like something that came from China....

If you meant 6MT, I agree wholeheartedly. If you meant 5AT, please explain...

Nissan got the hint a few years too late, how long have we been complaining about the 6th gen's styling?
