Does anyone know what the rear bumpstops on a '99 SE looks like? I know that the front bumpstops are yellow, and about 3 inches long.

I had Eibach springs put in, and the shop lost my rear bumpstops. I need to find replacements, but Nissan dealers don't know what I'm talking about and I can't describe what it looks like.

I think you need to have the shop that lost them get new ones for you.

They are a part of the rear dustboots.

Thanks.

But can anyone describe what they look like? Are they black in color? Yellow/Orange?

I don't think you can get just the bump stops, but they are a different shape than the fronts. They are an integral part of the rear dust boots, so that's what you should be asking for at the dealers. I don't think that you can buy just the bump stops. The boots probably needed to be replaced anyway.

Is it possible for the shocks/springs to operate without the dust boots in the rear?

The reason I'm asking is because I think the shop that installed my Eibach springs lost the rear bumpstops. The rear shocks are already dead, and my car only has 17,000 miles. Only 13,000 with Eibachs. This seemed a little premature for the shocks to go, which is why I suspect the rear bumpstop/dustboots aren't there.

You should be able to tell if you've dustboots on the rear or not. Just look. If you've got the dustboots, then you've got the bump stops. They are one piece. If you don't have dustboots, then you've got no stops. If you don't have dustboots, it's gonna cost you big!!!! Rear dustboots/bumpstops are about $40 each and you'll pay about $80 in labor to have the dustboots installed because you'll need to pull apart the suspension and coils.

The dust boots are part of the stock setup correct? or do they come with the spring?
I am just wondering because I am thinking of buying used Eibachs...

I don't know if 96 and 99

Are diff. but on the 96 the rear bump is about 2 inch's tall. It's black and have like notches or groves from the top of the bumper to the bottom, vertically. I cut mine the first time I put my Intrax because the instructions said, Bad idea. I kept hearing clanking noise when I hit bumps.
I went to the dealer to get them and it was hard explaining it to them. They also didn't know luckly I still had my cut ones and ordered them seperate from the boot. Just the bumpers. Man but that was like three years ago. I guess I should develope my pics soon of my lowering this past week end. I think i took a pic of them.
I hope I didn't confuse you.

Do you always need to replace the front/rear dustboots with a strut change? I'm switching from stock struts to Tokico HP struts.
