Fred,
We have all the parts we use available to the public. They are obviously not off the shelf parts. We have done all our own R&D as well as dyno/street/race tests.
The VQ has much more power potential than the 2J found in the supra. This is due to the fact that the stock VQ cylinder head flow about 20 more CFM than a ported 2J. It also has the obvious .5 more displacement.
We have crankshaft modifications we found to be necessary as well as a slew of block mods, head mods, custom cams, vavlve covers, adjustable timing gears etc etc. We also have developed CNC programs for the Cylinder head porting. PM Me if you want details I am open to sharing info

That car is back halved it's not full tube chassis. BTW to whoever stated it, that car went 6.72 @ 212 on gasoline. The Performance Motorsports car went 6.63 @ 215 but it did so on methanol and also with 500lbs less weight.
Regardless, it's not really a VQ anymore but rather a sortof VQ based custom sorta thing with some VQ parts.
EditL I should clarify - I've heard and read that it's a back halved car. I haven't seen it myself - but from looking at it it looks like a back halved car. It's got stock front body panels which is often an earmark of a back halved car as well as having a stock wheelbase it appears. The Performance Motorsports car for instance doesn't have any stock body panels it has a custom body shaped and molded to "look" like a 350z - it's also got an extended wheelbase.
To me, this car is much more impressive than the performance motorsports car.

That's correct Neal. The car is not a full tube chasis car and yes it only runs on gas, no meth. Far more impressive than the Vinny Ten's orange Z. This car originally had the RB26 until they blew that motor up back in 2004, I think the RB was running close to 1500hp. Great guys, very informative and willing to share information.
you really can't boast about this vq cuz every single component was replaced under the company's own R&D team..
personally, they shouldn't compare this vq with toyota's 2j, since that was developed over a decade ago

If you read the FreshAlloy thread it's very interesting that he mentions bearings failing at high rpm even on stock/street motors.
I've been wondering more and more lately if that's what happened to my engine, as opposed to the oil pump failing. But I'll find out in the spring when I get around to a tear down.
