I <3 my maxima!

I love my car. I wake up every morning @ 4:30 so I can make it into SF from Santa Rosa by 6:00. It is absolutely miserable waking up that early. But this morning something was different. I was miserable as usual until I walked into my garage, opened the door and beheld my Maxima. All the sleep, misery and regret for leaving my warm bed left me.

I hop'd in, hit up Peet's coffee and was mashing down 101 South passing fools left and right until (of course) I got to the Novato Narrows.

Anyhow this is just one example as to why I love my maxima. My commute has just not been the same drag since I got the Max.

Relative to the price paid it is the best car I've owned or could have asked for. The quality interior, the little things that even though the car didn't come with, was capable of being added, like a compass rear view mirror, outside thermostat, AE door sills, radio controls on the steering, the 6MT, the ease with which I pass people. I don't even bother racing the more typical cars because they are just no match.

Tomorrow I'm getting the windows tinted 20% all around. Since I get a 5 day weekend starting Friday I'm going to go try the AE headlight mod again.

I'm @ 50K now and plan to go at least until 200K. My mother in law has a 98SE Auto with 230K on it. Looks great, rides better...
So yeah, I couldn't not post this message. I love 5.5. Best car by far that I've ever owned.

Merry Christmas All,

Have a great weekend in your girl! I too, absolutely love driving my car. I have to figure out what I was set out to do that day, then execute my plans with reckless abandon! I hear you 707 SE!!!

Be careful and safe this weekend/next week!

went from a jeep wrangler to the 97 SE 5spd. It was like two seperate worlds (obviously), but i remember flying through a nice sweeping road the whole time telling my dad how amazing the steering/ride/performance/etc was and he was just laughing the whole time.

i cant imagine a better first car!!

well basically, I"m about to do the timing belt , and probably a few valves, and I need to know if it's belt or chain driven , and if it's belt , if it's round or square toothed.

A few days ago I went up Skyline blvd (awesome high speed, sweeping road) flying around every corner and cruising at a very illegal speed... it felt like my '97 5sp was built for that road. I still love my car after 1 1/2 years.

Agreed. I usually appreciate my car the most after I've spent a significant amount of time in another car. After spending a week in a G35 during a business trip, I thought I would be spoiled, but nope. As soon as I got in my car, it was like home sweet home.

I've got the 03 SE manual. Given the choice i'd always take a manual over an auto, just my opinion.

I know this is kind of old, but I'm wondering how much you paid for the steering wheel controls?

lol i love mine also. being 18, first car, paid 3K$ and damn shes great! reliable, very good power for a daily driver, roomy, alot of comfort. When it comes to driveability; she handles great on stock se's, good brakes and looove the sound of the vq.

But i kinda noticed something taht maxima's dont really have good resale value, i mean, you can pick one up for much cheaper than an accord/camry etc. BUT, the thing i noticed about maximas is because most owners keep it for a long long time unlike other cars. Its not made to sell, its made to drive .

Next month I'm coming up on one year with my max, it's given me a hard time here and there but I'm still very happy with it. Best car I've owned.
