Awaiting the new Maxima and Altima $$
#1
Supposively early August, with the 6 speed later on in the fall? Someone mentioned the Altima will be near $26-28k, and Maxima $32k. Could that be true? Prices need to be more competitive IMO. I phoned the dealer and the guys said he will give me a call when they are in.
Why are all the dealers so secretive about the new releases? Is it that they don't know anything, or were they told to be hush as a tactic?

my opinion...
the 2k2 alty has a 4 cyl and a v6 engine, so i'm thinking that the 4 cyl will be similarily priced with the camry and accord 4 cyl, and that goes same with the v6. the new alty is now competing with the accord and camry, and the max has somewhat moved up, competing with cars like the TL-S, avalon, and IMHO, the ES300. the new engine and features in the 2k2 max set it aside from the accord and camry, so a price tag of $32k or more is not surprising, i mean, some people payed that much for the AE max. and alty will probably start at like $18k for the 4 cyl, and top out at $28k or so for the top-of-the-line v6.
