Stillen vs B&M sts

Are there any differences between the 2? I need one that moves the shifter position forward.

I can't comment on the stillen one, but I have the b&m and it does move the position forward.
Netural feels like first did, second feels like where netural used to be.
First is about 1.5 inches closer to the console.
There was a post with pictures of the stock and b&m comparison I'll try to look for it and post the link.

I dont have a STS on my car. I actually dont want one either. I do not like how much more effort is required to get it into gear. I also dont like how it moves it up so far. Ill stick to my stock shifter height and urathane bushing.

The B&M moves the shifter forward. The stillen i have no clue.

I wonder if anybody bought a Stillen? Was price the deciding factor for you guys to get the B&M?

It was. I'm in canada and I got the b&m shipped for about 160.
The stillen was gonna be way more expensive and from what I read, so many more people had the b&m I just went with that.
I've had it in for about 3 weeks now and I really like it. I won't ever go back.

I just installed a B&M shifter along with a bushing from Larrio. It's sooo much better. I'm not really sure what you mean by more effort. Are you sure it was installed right? It takes very little effort for me to put it in any gear, it's easier than when the shifter was stock. It was a little odd having the throws so short at first, especially getting into reverses but it's been on for 2 days and it will never come off. Also the B&M definitely moves if forward..before i could rest my palm on the shifter with my arm mostly on the rest when in 4th. Now it's just the tips of my fingers with my arm in the same position

It is possible the one i drove had something wrong, along with a stupidly stiff clutch pedal, it was really hard to get into gear compared to my 4th gen with the new shifter bushing. I thought it was just me, but my freind said the same thing.

I'm having issues trying to down shift into first if my speed is in excess of about 25km/hr. I could push on it really hard and it will go, but I don't like it. Other than that, I wouldn't say that it's easier than stock just firmer and a more positive feel. The "squishiness" if that's even a word, is gone and that leaves you with the more positive feel.

that is typical, it's always difficult to shift into first when moving, second gear really is a better gear to crawl around in at low speeds gear, first is to get moving. Until you're down to like 5-10 miles an hour it's always hard to shift into first.

I had the stillen and it was a very nice piece! It does not use any stock pieces along the shifter. It is known to be the best STS out there for us 95-01 guys because it's the least notchiness. Anything that fits the 4th gen AND 5th gen will move the shifter forward LESS than any application for only the 4th gens. That is why the Fidanza does not work for us 5th gens, because it moves it forward too much, resulting in the console being in the way of 1,3,5.
