Slip light and TCS OFF light are on

I have a 2002 Maxima automatic transmission. I was driving on the highway doing about 35/40 mpr. The road was inclined so I was going uphill at the time. I hit the gas to accelerate and I felt the transmission miss the higher gear. As this happened, the SLIP and TCS OFF lights lit up, as well as the check engine light. The car wouldn't upshift and I had to slow down and pull over.

Currently, the all three lights (SLIP, TCS OFF, CHECK ENGINE) are lit up and the car will not drive in the higher gears. Is this a transmission problem or something else? I ask because I need to know whether to take my maxima to a transmission mechanic or to a general purpose automotive mechanic.

I'm a novice when it comes to car problems, so any advice, suggestions or comments would be very helpful.

James,

This is all hebrew to me as well. Have you posted in the 5th generation forum? The crew over there is really helpful when it comes to this kind of thing!

I just got back from autozone. They checked my codes. P1102 (Mass Airflow Sensor) code was displayed on their testing device.

Is this something I could replace easily on my own or do I have to go to the dealer? Also, how can I be sure that replacing the Mass Airflow Sensor will fix all the lights?

easy fix, you're just going to have to buy a new MAF sensor

try to get one cheap on here because the dealer will rape you

I've read a lot on here that my problem could be related to a bad coil pack. Would autozone's diagnostic meter be able to dectect a failed coil pack? I don't want to end up replacing the MAF senson only to find out that I have a failed coil pack.
