hey guys, tonight was my first time at a track and i got about 25 runs in. its a small 1/8 mile track in the middle of nowhere. my first two runs were 10's flat with like a 1.4s reaction time but that was my first 2 runs! throughout the night a ran an equal amounts of 9.7's, 9,8's and 9.9's. my very best run was a 9.6. tell me what ya think.

BEST TIME
reaction >>>>>> .75
60 ft >>>>>>>>> 2.30
330ft >>>>>>>>> 6.39
1/8 ET >>>>>>>> 9.78
1/8 MPH >>>>>>> 72.18

AVERAGE TIME
reaction >>>>>> .75
60 ft >>>>>>>>> 2.41
330ft >>>>>>>>> 6.43
1/8 ET >>>>>>>> 9.82
1/8 MPH >>>>>>> 72.03

tell me where and how to improve and do you know what kind of 1/4 mile times i would get with these 1/8 mile times? thanks!

need some work on the launch

Those 1/8 mile times would give you an average ET of 15.1-15.3 in the 1/4. Thats pretty damn good for just an intake. Get those 60ft times down to like a 2.0-2.1 and you'd run 9.4-9.7's all day. Or if you ran the 1/4 with a 2.0-2.1 60ft you would run a 14.9.

Your 72mph trap speeds indicate 15.3s with a 2.3 60'. In cooler weather, I usually run higher 9.4s@75mph which equates to 14.7s and 14.8s. My 60 foots are typically in the 2.25-2.30 range. Traction is still a big problem for me. I know .3-.4 of a second doesn't sound like much, but it really is. You're doing really good right now for what you've got. A 2.2 60 foot is about the best you can hope for until you get some more power or drag radials.

BTW reaction times make no difference for you et. You could sit at the tree for an hour and still run a 15.0.

are those times that you've done with the current mods in your sig? and also how do you take off? it was really weird at the track for me. i can hook up a lot better on the street and chirp second gear easily, but at the track, i could chirp second gear at all. maybe i ust have to get used to it...

Yep, you'll find that racing on the track is usually much slicker than the street. At the track, I usually get a spin of spin on launch, then a little hop, and then a good chirp into 2nd.

My 14.7 was without the UDP. I still haven't tested it under similar conditions.

we have very similar mods so I compared my average time of 14.9 to your times and found that we both cross the 1/8 mile at the same speed and my launches are always 2.2 so once you get your launches down I predict a 9.6 1/8

Good times Dru.
your car sure is quick for what has been done.
You went to sealy right?

Hey DaveB, have you ever raced SiRacer (Jason) with the vortech Si in KC? His track times seem so so slow for what he has. How does he compare on the streets? Just curious.

Francis-

I haven't raced Jason and I don't think I've met him. What are his ets? I'm assuming low 15s? On average, most modded NA Si's run 15.7-16.2 at my track. I'd say it was the drivers, but after seeing about 12 of them run, I think it might be the track. I ran my buddies 2K Si with an intake to a 15.8@87 with a 2.3 60'. Most ITRs are running low to mid 15s. I did see a guy a few weekends ago with a Greddy turbo'd Si and that car didn't look very fast at all, it just made a lot of cool noises. He got his bell rung by a Viper GTS from a roll at 40mph. Within 2 seconds, the Viper got a 2 car lead. By 100mph the Viper was ahead by way too many cars to even count. This idiot SI driver thinks he'll be able to take care of the Viper in a few months. Ha!!! 12 second Hondas don't run 12s on the street. Vipers do, but Hondas don't. Torque and RWD are the key factors. The Honda doesn't have either.

Dave,
http://forums.clubsi.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/006418.html

here are some of his times
he is running a built b16A with the vortech unit running 10 psi. he makes all these excuses about his car.

i don't know why that car is so slow.
should be a low 13 second car at the track.
