A week or so ago, I told you guys that my friend just bought an used '93 Mitsubishi 3000GT, but I wasn't sure if it was a VR4 or not. I thought it was a SL, anyway, that was what my friend told me. He was trying to test me to see if I can a real VR4 from a fake. I took a ride in it one time and he "accidently" push the car a bit and I thought I heard a BOV. So, I was like WTH?! I even noticed a boost gauge in his car. I guess he thought I was really dumb and couldn't tell what from what. Well, I told him to pop the hood for me to see, so I can see first hand if it's a VR4 or not. It's a VR4! I saw the "Twin Turbo" in his engine. That sucker almost had me. I got a ride with another friend of ours in the driver seat, who was more experienced with driving a manual. He punched it on the highway and the boost went to the max of 14psi for the stock turbo. I felt the "push back" feeling that a turbo car can deliever. I just can't imagine how it would feel if he upgrade his turbo! I don't want to race him now, I know I will get toasted big time. Even if I get a supercharer, I don't know if that will be enough to take him. I highly doubt it. He plan to get a down pipe, cat-back exhaust, and intake. Just with those, it should give him a very good amount of power increase. When we got off the off-ramp, we stopped at a redlight. A previous model Mustang GT pulled up. To make the story short, the Mustang GT got burned bad. The Mustang only mod was an exhaust system from what I could tell. At the next light, he didn't even dare line up with my friend. Now, my Maxima feels reallyyyyy slow. My friend said he could help me find an used 300ZXTT(car that I really want) for a good price and in good condition if I want. I only wish I had the money to get that. I would get it in a heartbeat if I could afford it. I don't know, if I somehow can get the 300ZXTT(manual!), I would have to part with the Maxima. Oh well, that's a big IF.

Btw, I finally got my Tantrums mounted onto my car. I will post pics in a few days.

I totally agree! Most of the time, we tend to live in our own world; thinking that the Maxima is a really fast car. But sometimes, everybody is in the process of learning and we had just learned a lesson, from you!

yea... my friend use to do the same thing... with an SR20DET 1989 Nissan 240SX...
with stock rims, never washed... it was kinda funny to see that thing line up against Impreza Turbos... like a piece of shiet against THE Impreza... haha
that car was a sleeper... especially when his brother hit it with his Jeep... looked like ***... just a 4.5inch exhaust and the *pshhhhhh* of the BOV

Yeah, I told him that the next time we head to the track, he should come along. By that time, he should have his downpipe and exhaust. I can tell that he definitely still needs some time to learn to shift better.

With your new setup though Matt, I think you can take him. His car is fast, but it's stock right now. Even though I will lose, I think I'll ask him to run me to see how well or bad, I can hang.
