Dead 2003 Maxima

Well, after mostly lurking for years on this forum, I have to say goodbye. My Max died after a brief stint with stupidity, which involved me taking a turn way too fast... with... *cough* the spare *cough*.

The situation: Right hand highway exit turn. Going too fast, rear end goes loose. Overcorrected, now rear end is loose towards the OTHER side, and the car is pretty much going straight ahead toward the concrete divisor. I black out. I come back too, with my belt already undone and the door open. I'm walking out and can barely see anything, vision all distorted. Cop later tells me the airbag gases can do that, I dunno. Nothing broken except some bad burns from the belt on my shoulder, and my left knee and ankle hurt like a mother for a few weeks.

Lesson learned... don't be stupid. Here are the pics:
Maxima Aftermath

That happened a few weeks ago. Yesterday I got a 2007 Altima 3.5 SE. Anyway, thanks for all the insight on Maximas and Nissans overall. This has to be the best car forum ever, but since I don't have a Max now, maybe I'll hang out somewhere else

Sorry about your car, but nice choice with the alti! 6-speed or CVT?

CVT, and yeah I'm alright now thanks. Everyone that saw the car thought I was dead hehe Nissan Safety! I definitely don't want to test the Alti's "crumple zones" and "lots-of-airbags" features tho!

Damn glad you're okay! No need to go anywhere else you can still hang here. There's a few other members who've switched to G35s or Altimas and are still here so stick around!

Drive safely

Congrats on your new purchase, I'm sorry about the wreck. Thank God (literally here) that you made it out of that one. How fast all of it must have happened?!

Feel free to hang here. We'd love to have you! Once a Maxima owner......

Of course I'm gonna hang out here! This is one of the few forums that send me a happy bday email every year! WOO!! Can't wait for the break-in to be over, so I can start smokin' some Maximas tho :P Or rather, smokin' them in a straight line, since I'm now scared of turns! (j/k)

Would have never happened with IRS Ok, well maybe..

Looks like a violent accident. Good you escaped, but that's one nasty looking raspberry.

Glad to see that you are OK. Where is your car now? Let's see if we can keep the parts in the "family".

the frame isn't bent at all. just get some new body panels, ziptie that bumper support back up and you're good to go

Wow, that looks bad!

Glad you weren't hurt too bad.
So is the max still available for parts? Those seats look nice.

Everyone asking for parts, sadly the insurance company got the car Would've gladly parted it out, although shipping from PR to the mainland is expensive! The Alti has been awsome, and of course, driving a little slower (at least in the turns). Thanks to everyone for their concern!
