Found a So Cal company that makes clear and tinted hoods for some specific automobiles yesterday and am contacting them about a model for Maxima's...if I can work something out, I will post their response including estimated cost and mechanical requirements...I have seen pictures of their work and it looks real good. Obviously this will cause some owners to have to clean their engine bays before they use it but it would be worth it to try I think. I will keep the board in touch with progress. Meanwhile feel free to post opinions.

Oh and did I mention my rims are for auction?

What kind of material? It must be plastic. Is it all clear or a hood with a clear window?

I know people have different preferences, but do you really want to drive around with a clear hood?? Are you planning to buy it for everyday use, or just for show use?

It might just be me, but it seems a rather odd modification.

it'll most likely be made of polycarbonate, i heard th stuff is strong. but after time it'll yellow, and become brittle from the sun's UV rays..

Haven't you considered this...

as a secruity hazrad if yyou use this hood daily!? now criminals can see how your whole engine is set up and make a shopping list of what they are gonna steal, come back tommorow and have "shopping" spree! I can undertand its use for weekend shows and stuff like 1MAX2NV's Max, but as a daily thing I think its kinda ridiculous! but whatever floats your boat!

thats great! hahaha go greased lightning...go greased lightning...

clear hoods are show use only, not strong enough for highway speeds, and ohh yeah most definitely an attraction for someone to swipe your stuff. think about it , its hard enough to break into a metal hood, how much easier to break into a composite plastic one? probobly get through with a portable battery pack and a dremel in 5 minutes.
