I was going West on the 60 freeway on Saturday April 14th, at about 6 or 7pm. I was just out for a drive, when I saw a black Infiniti looking G coupe behind me. So I bump into the lane to my right to allow it to pass. When I glanced at the back, I saw Nissan badge and the most beautiful word ever 'skyline'. The car had huge twin exhausts, Brembo orange painted calipers.. in other words it looked like a Infiniti G35 coupe, but had a much different body style. It did not have the typical LED tail lights however.

Any thoughts?

It had circular tail lights, non-LED and from that picture Nismo, I'd have to say longer doors.

 

ever get a look at the lisence plates? i know in Ontario and michigan, manufacturers test some preproduction cars on the street. a few years ago on the 401 i saw a dodge charger with red michigan plates that had manufacturer test written on the bottom about 8 or 9 months before the car was due to be released. same 401 highway, farther east near hwy40 i saw the fj cruiser a few months before it was due to be released. not sure if they do that in cali, but i'll take it as a good sign that we're not getting shafted by nissan's claims for the next skyline being available in north america.

 

There is a G35 with Skyline badges in my neighborhood. Why do people go through that trouble to do that?

 

So it wasn't a Maxima?

circular, sounds like the new GTR if it looked like that.....i don't remember if this is true, but i would think the new GTR has LED tails though....and it wouldn't say skyline on the new one

maybe its just some ricer with skyline lights

 

Umm... I was told on this very forum that a G35 in Japan is called a "Skyline 350GT"... So it was probably just a Japanese imported G35 then?

Right hand or left hand drive? If it was RHD it was a Skyline, LHD=G35 w/badging. all Skylines are RHD.

 

in all likelyhood its a g35 coupe with skyline badging and wannabe skyline tail lights, and a body kit, but cant we pretend its the new skiline dressed in the old skyline's body to hide the fact that its the new one?, but yes the jdm skyline is the usdm G35, but cant we go back to being 8 years old and pretend we were cops and robbers? Please? I really wanna believe that the new skyline is being road tested for release here

 

i saw a few skylines in Moscow when I was there two weeks ago on vacation... honestly.. I expected more.. it looks kinda crappy and cheap....

Powerful no doubt, but meh.. not as nice looking as I would have thought.

G35 in japan is call SKYLINE

after the R34 GTR skyline all the newer model R series is all called R this and R that. No longer skyline.

Most importantly you are in cali there is R32, R33, R34 every where.
I see one every OTHER day.........

Yeah i know.... The other day i was driving and i saw altima with a Type R badge, i didnt know what to say...

 

sounds like to me people are watching 2 fast 2 furious and realizing how cool some of the cars are on there and want them. Then realizing on ebay how much they cost change their mind and add a badge on the wrong make car to make them selves feel better.
I sorta did that i guess I bought skyline style body kit, nice skyline style tail lights and added GTR on the bottom where its supposed to be alot of people get that mixed up and put it on top or in the middle lower right hand corner lol anyway yea id say its the new altima with skyline mod diff tailights and skyline badging thats my guess.
