what happens when

You put regular oil when you were previously using synthetic? I ask because i currently have regular in there because I just got it out the shop and I didn't have the time to change it today but i plan on it tommorow after school. Could I be damaging my engine right now?

a lot of info. both oils are compatible, but you should stick to one.

In my 944 the previous owner used dino oil and I started using the Mobil 1 stuff. The oil in Mobil 1 is thinner and will "seep" more into the seals/through and might cuase leaks. In my cause it did this on the 944 and I have to get new gaskets.

Thats because your 944 was as old as dinosaurs are. New engines have gaskets/seals that are very compatibile with synthetic oils. If you have a leak already, synthetic will just make it more apparent.

no, your gaskets already needed replacing. the dino just build crud around the leaks hinding them. the mobil cleaned the crud away revealing your problem.

of course you could learn that by looking through the link i provided^^^^
