Would you say that is bad to just change some plugs? Or what about mixing brand names within an installation?

I have noticed that the back three plugs are taking more wear than the front three. I have 4 new copper NGK plugs (bosch +4 in for 12k right now on a supercharged engine) sitting the the garage. Could I just change 3-4 of these plugs till...say december with now adverse side affects???

why would u go bosch???

Dealship gives u Ngk
so when time comes to upgrade u get the NGk PLatinums

im not sure aobut the mixing ... doesnt sound like a good idea...

i think the bosch have a better spark then the NGk
therefore it should affect ur performance ..

Do u still have the stock Wires or did u upgrade those ???

if u need plugs Ngk platinums or other ones let me know i can get em for u at 2.50 American plus shipping

I happen to have 4 new copper NGK(same heat range as our platinums) sitting in the garage. It is my understanding the copper generally has better spark than platinum, copper just does not last as long.

Ideally, I may replace all six with Denzo Iridium plugs in a couple months. But I was wondering if I could just change 1 to 3 worn plugs (if I have one) with a new one from a different brand.

performance wise i think u mite have a defect
but MEchanically i dont c why it would cause harm to the cylinders neverthe less the entire engine

i basically think of it this way >>>

yeah, you COULD mix & match brands and you COULD change the ones that are bad, but WHY? when i buy a pair of shoes, i don't replace only the one that's bad or replace w/ another brand, i get another PAIR.

it's not gonna break ur car i'm sure, but i think it's ADVISABLE to replace all of it. at least that's what the 5 year old kid told me

better to change them all at once. if the different cylinders aren't putting out the same amount of power, there's stress on the crank and rods, etc...

-V

btw, i used the bosch normal platinums and the car seems to pull smooth and clean to me...

gas mileage went up by about 1.5-2 mpg too!

I would not mix brands or just replace partial ones. For the few bucks it costs, keep them all the same. You are running the cooler plugs right?

1st, 2nd, and most 3rd generation Maximas use standard cap and rotor ignition, the VE30DE was the first to use coil-on-plug.
