I dont know what to do!

Hey guys!

Well......... I've been having sooo many thoughts and dont know what to do.

The thought is the following...........

Since the first day i bought my max, i said to my self that i was gonna mod the h3ll out of it. And I did. From the first thing we all do like clear corners to one of the biggest!! a Supercharger.

This past weekend I went to a meet at the University of Maryland with a couple other org members, had a great time and let me tell yall there where some SWEET azz rides. But only ONE out of all is the one that ive always liked and wanted............................................ ...a Toyota Supra
Those things are sweet inside out. Ofcourse we are talking about the last model. I know a couple guys with supras that where actually there whom talked to me about their rides and just makes me This one guy I know dyno at 739hp@29psi If i get one. My goal would be to get to see #'s like those.

I love my car. Its unique. I suprise alot of guys on the road who wouldnt expect to get smoked of a 4door sedan. We all know supras are monster. Being this the family of the maxima. What do you guys think. Should i let her go and get a supra or keep her AND get a supra or keep her and dont bother in getting a supra?

Thanks for your time and for reading my gay post if any of you think it is. I just dont know what to do.

Thanks

IMHO keep the car and save for the Supra. The amount of money those Supras go these days seems ridiculous. Keep in mind that if you buy the base of base supra, you'll have to start ALL over again. Why not save the money and get yourself a Supra at a later date?

Cars are what they are. You drive a Maxima because it's an inexpensive, roomy, 4-door sedan with a reliable and powerful V6. Insurance is cheap, parts are cheap.

Comparing a Maxima to a Supra is apples vs. oranges. The Supra is a sports car. Does your desire for acceleration, braking, handling outweigh the benefits of your Maxima? Are you willing to sacrifice low insurance rates, cheap parts, 4 doors and a full backseat? I know I'm not.

My roommates turbo E36 M3 puts down 350whp and to me, it's fast as fawk. My friend's B5 S4 putting down 400awhp is even faster. I got tunnel vision when he punched it. 700+ hp is ridiculous. It's obviously not suitable as a reliable daily street car. My point is, if you have a desire for something like that, you're definitely driving the wrong car.

My uncle has a 97 Supra Turbo. He got his tuned by Rod Millen, it put out around 430whp. After being a riding and driving in it anything about 500 is insane. Seriously I could never get tired of 430hp it's just crazy. I would keep your car and save for a Supra even though those damn things get more expensive every year. In socal you can't even find a 93 turbo for less than 26,000.

Just get a used IS300, drop a Supra motor in. Keep the funtionality of a 4dr and power of a supra.

I thought of all your telling me today!

Im shure insurance on that is gonna cost twice of what Im paying for my maxima now.

I checked parts today for a supra and just a clutch is like $700 for it. And a good i mean good clutch for my max is $400 for PP and 6puck clutch

Apples vs Oranges = I know, its like day and night.

Depends on how you mod it, It can be reliable. Otherwise its not a good modded car than. I mean i wouldnt drive a car if its gonna be braking down on me.

I love my car and i like what ive done to it. But you know sometimes it gets a little boring wearing the same shoes everyday.

True but how many people outside of the Maxima community can you count that has turbo maximas? Might be the same shoes, but it's got Dr. Scholl's gellin' pads!

If you have the time, money, and connections I think your best choice is an IS300 with a 2jz swap. That way your getting 4 doors, 5 FULL seats, a useable trunk, stealthiness, hp of a supra, insurance of a sporty 4 door. I think that that's going to be your best middleground.

Obviously you're technically inclined, so the IS300 2jz swap would probably be within your range with a lot of money and a LOT of homework.

www.japanmotorimport.com has some pretty cheap prices on engines. Granted 6 grand is a lot, that's still probably better than anywhere else. And as far as I know, the swap isn't too too hard. Yeah there will be some custom work, but there always is whenever putting an engine into a car that wasn't originally there.

if you have the money or can get it, sale maxima and get a supra, worry about 700 hp on down the road, 300-320hp (not sure on hp rating) should do you for now ! lol !

4 real right. They come with a good HP stock. I would like to sell my max but the thing is im never gonna get back what I invested $$ on it. Ive been looking around for the supra but some people are asking a little too much. I guess gives me time to save more $$ and c what comes up. If not, I guess its not ment to be.

It's 320hp right out of the box. No other import car had that much power back in it's day (in that price range of course) . The VR4 came in at a close second at 300hp.

When I added a ypipe to my twin turbo Supra, I gained 45 hp to the wheels. Can't complain about that!

IMO, keep the maxima and save up for a Supra. Then you'll have the best of both worlds.... a supercharged Maxima and a twin turbo Supra.

Boost FTMFW.

Yup, sure do. What's funny is that as a kid, I always thought I would be driving a camaro or mustang as an adult(based on the fact that my first car was a automatic 92 camaro, which I still have and is my daily driver) but now, all I buy is imports with boost or capable of boost and stick shifts!! The camaro is my least favorite car!!

Save up for the Supra, keep the Maxima. The next car I buy will probably be some sort of coupe, but I'm keeping the Maxima as a second car. Nothing will replace it.

And a 700whp 2JZ will be awesome... except for whenever you're not on the dyno. I'd probably keep it at 500whp max until I could build a reliable engine with a good powerband.
