If you simply had your Maxima for your daily driving car and you were to get another car to make a very mean muscle car, what would it be and what would you do?

I was personally thinking of a Cobra with a Supercharger and some NOS for "back-up". Although I will never again own a Ford for everyday dirving, it is just too risky.

Errr?

Muscle car? a Hemi 'Cuda or a Charger ..

Next/New car?

300zx TT, RX-7 TT (risky on that one, rotary = ptbhtbhtbhtb on finding a good mechanic) or a Supra TT..

See a pattern on my next car? It's all about the pssstt.

Oh hell no!!!!

3-gen maxima w/ the twin turbo 300z engine! It's been done! Trust me!!! LOL.

Okay. Datsun 510 w/ a FJ20-T turbo 2.0 liters 330hp and 33psi. Did I mention the 2400lb weight and the R200 4.11 limited slip that bolts in??? whoop-whoop!

hoowa

I agree, I forgot we were putting pricetags completely out the window =) ..

Lotus Esprit or a Skyline would definately be on the top of my "no-money-necessary" and originality lists. If I had that kind of money though, I'd buy it in Japan, ship it over on my personal plane, and get it emission tested/certified by my personal crooked dealership

A Supra Twin Turbo would be nice. A buddy of mine in town has one and uses it as and everyday driver. He has numerous modifications to it. In one word......

"Swwweeeeet!!!!"

But, sticking with Nissan, a 300ZX Twin Turbo for the right price has much, much potential. Both are great looking and fast out of the factory, but upgrade the Z-car a little and everyone will be saying.......

"Duuuuuude!!!!"

I already have it...

http://home.satx.rr.com/jasonr/RX-7page.html

However it needs this to qualify for a power house...

http://members.tripod.com/~grannys/rx7.html

Can you say 2400lb car with 320hp/350TQ? Total cost would put me in the $5000 - $7000 range for all new parts/motor/tranny.
That means 7.5lbs per HP considering 320HP GT40 5.0 EFI. Add me and a full tank of gas, we move up to 9.3lbs per HP. This folks is in VIPER power to weight ratio territory. The right traction and gearing, I'd be running mid 12s, for the low low price of $5k - $7k + original purchase of car $2k. Not bad for almost $10k, ya'll. And I wouldn't mind tearing it up, cause it's old.

Light + POWER = FAST! Remember that.

Benz clk 55 amg... Don't need any mods but you could always put a blower on it and have 500 hp and 540 lbs or t!!!!!
If I'd buy a lotus I'd buy a elise...1900 lbs...Plus a blower=omg speed.

I'd get a Lingenfelter Corvette 650 TT 0-60 in 3.3 and 226mph top speed haha...

and well back to earth here... a possibility is for me getting a S13 or S14 Nissan 240SX and drop a SR20DET in it (yes i'm sure everyone knows by now that i love the combo haha) and yes i'd make sure it goes "pshhhh" haha

so many good choices

but for being original i would want a
98 M3 (future car anyways) with an AA Turbo stage 2 is enough for me, don't wanna kill myself.
As for later on i wanna get a project car like a 72 Datsun 240Z, with either a Lt1 camaro engine and 6speed to match or bored out 3.1 turbo engine that was originally in there, good for 500hp. and the car just looks sick!

You didn't mention training wheels so the thing won't flip over from the slightest turn of the steering wheel.

Ok, this may sound weird, but a year ago I was planning on dropping in a 3.8L turbo v-6 from a Buick Grand National into a 1991 240sx....would have great power/weight ratio...plus excellent handling that the 240 is known for...

hmmm sounds like an idea.. but the SR20DET is straight drop in... you dont even have to change the tranny... thats why its so appealing...
eheheh my plan is to drop the 5.6L V-12 from a 750il into a 318ti like racing dynamics did wahahhaa... for what reason they did this i do not know

2002 Z06, 405HP, 0-60 in under4 Sec. 1G handling. Perfromance stock equal to the 911 Turbo and GT, at under $60 Grand!! Another 10G in mods would create a monster.

I got your email. I have seen na Buick V6 in 510s but I think it was all aluminum. It might fit(Buick V6 turbo) but it will absolutely ruin the handling. If you have a 240sx, you almost have a duty to either turbo the KA or just simply bolt in the SR20DET. Ultimate hp might be down(but you need more than 300hp??) but the front/rear weight ratio is MUCH BETTER with this swap.

Either swap will ABSOLUTELY REQUIRE :
1) The largest brakes you can fit into the front
2) Serious rear end upgrading w/ one of the factory 300lsd or the SE 240sx LSD at least.
