I saw a '95-'96 with a 97-'99 rear end today!

Car:'95 Black GLE with the '95 GLE rims, '95-'96 dashboard and '95-'96 front end.

I asked the guy that was driving it about the rear end, because it actually made me do a double take. He stated that the car had been in an accident with damage to the trunk lid and bumper in the rear. When the repair shop redid his car, they changed the trunklid and bumper mount, and took out the '95 rear brake lights and replaced them with the '97+. Car looked good like that.

Guess what upcoming mod I'm gonna do?

You going to do the front swap too? You might as well if you're going to do the rear.

Actually, I personally like my front end (am I alone on this?) but hate the rear. But it may happen down the road, then I'll confuse people with my '95 that looks like a '97.

If you find out how much it cost to do the rear end conversion and what's needed to do the conversion, let me know. I like the 97-99 rear end more also. I might do both front and rear conversion soon. The front doesn't seem hard to do. However, I think the rear will take a bit more work.

I'm doing a 97-99 front conversion on my 95. I also want to do the rear, but just the bumper. Will it bolt right on? Anyone know?

I believe that the bumper beam sticks out further in the '97+, so you would need the bumper support AND the cover. But then again, I could be wrong.

There's at least two of us. I prefer the look of the 95 96 front end myself.

What?!?! I didn't even know that there was a difference in the rears!?! Maybe I'm not worthy enough of being a son of a maxima owner...
BTW, I like the 97-99 front, but the 95-96 looks great too.
