ANOTHER Y-Pipe question...and i know we are sick of them
Okay so i'm buying a Y-pipe good for me =D BUt its time to get serious if price is not an issue because either way its going to be more than 300 and less than 400 dollars for one. I want the best one that DOES NOT MAEK The bees in a can noise? Are any of the pipes out there guaranteed to not have this? I have read that it just depends on if u get a good one or a bad one...I know its the flex pipe that makes the noise so whats the solution?
Lets hear your suggestions...thanx

Warpspeed Performance is coming out with y-pipes that have a lined flex section that should help cut down own on the "bees in a can" phenomenon. Drop them a line, I'm sure they can help you out: http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/.
The lined flex works very well, we are adding them to all of our pipes now.
We have also been offering a retrofit kit which can easily be installed on the earlier production Y pipes right on the car by a muffler shop in 20-30 minutes.

We are currently working on 3 different versions of Y pipes which have no flex section but rely on something different to allow movement. We will be installing on our 96SE to see how they perform. So far looks like even more flow and less noise. One of the three versions is pretty radical but may yield a few more hp.
We will be dynoing the non mandrel bent versions shortly as they are installed and doing the mandrel bent comparison a week later. We will be dynoing our stock 96SE and then each time we try a different pipe or CAI so we can get a better idea of what to expect.

I thought Cattman has been using Lined flex section for a long time, still has hissing/buzzing/bees in a can noise in his Y-pipes.
What's wrong?
Stillen 2 piece y-pipe
I just installed my mine and there is no bees in my can. I feel that I really lucked out considering that I bought from the Stillen Open House for $99. I thought to myself after the purchase, "there must be something wrong with this." To my hopes and suprise, the y-pipe added no noise to my driving. The car makes a growl when I start the car and I hear a faint hissing noise at over 3,000 RPM, but no complaints. I think the fail-safe y-pipe is the cattman. I don't think anyone expects to hear bees, versus the stillen...there is a possiblitly.
