I lost to a Civic EX, thanks Nissan, thanks Bridgeston!

It was raining and a Civic EX wanting to cut me off after the red light. So I just press 1" of throttle to let the car go. Then unsurprisingly, the tires spins, both tires spins to be exact; I got LSD. Once I picked up traction, the stupid TCS kicked in. Then the Civic wasn't even trying. It was an automatic for sure because it did not roll during the start. It just ran straight ahead leaving me in dust. So I would like to thank Nissan for using the RE92. I would also like to thank Bridgeston for making such tires.
Not only that, when I was making extermely tight 90degree turn, the car would feel like that its sliding sideways. I have to eventually save the car with my skills. THis is ridicoulous because not many people will react fast enough if they were to drive in the rain.

That sucks man. Hey but not to be an A-S-S but just remember that street racing is illegal and can be dangerous to you as well as innocent bystanders. Do not encourage others to race Civics in the rain please, thanks.

the exact same thing happened to me today with a new 2001 civic Si (EX in USA), I was spinning thru the entire first gear(this is 15"goodyear GA) then he was like 2 cars ahead of me and once I got traction he was gone

I agree completly, my friends ~90' all-wheel drive civic hatchback could beat anybody in the rain im sure because there's not much torque and all 4 wheels spin...... And i could probably beat my friend's gt mustang by walking if we're at a stop light....
About the tires, as much as people generally don't like them, the Michelin Pilot XGT's are made for the rain and heavier sedans and we're great for me.....

A lot of this comes down to the torque our cars have and the torque those Hondas don't have. It makes good tires for our take-offs that much more important.

If you read my first post properly, I stated that I wasn't racing. The Civic wasn't racing me either. IT just took off with no spin off. My car, tires started spinning at 2000rpm.
SprintMax was a little different, he is a hardcore racer. What I mean by "Hardcore" is that he is reckless and took risk with his own life at extreme speed. I never go past 10mph over the speed limit.

"My Canadian SE Auto is limited to 100mph at 5000rpm 3rd gear. Given another 2km of stretch roads, its stuck at 100mph."
I don't think theres any canadian road that you can do 90mph legally, and you even said you tried to go faster in a 2km stretch road

The thread is titled: "I lost to a Civic EX, thanks Nissan, thanks Bridgeston!" um that sounds like a competition of sorts so when you say "lost" and talking about cars that usually means racing. I really don't care either way. But you are so right about the tires being lousy on wet roads. I drove my car with those tires on while there was some snow on the ground and that was just nuts! With my rear sway bar on you can easily get the backend to come out.

Also, I wrote this "I never go past 10mph over the speed limit." I was totally joking when I said I don't speed. I always speed.
