eh accident
So I got rear ended today and my bumper needs changing. Anyone know how long it would take a shop to replace a bumper or what not? The bumper is just pushed in the middle. accidents suck ;[
It usually depends on the shop (how busy they are) and how fast they can get the parts. I have had cars out of the shop in a couple of days and cars that took 3-4 weeks.
If they other driver was at fault, their insurance will give you a rental car. Be sure to hammer them and say you want a car of equal size to yours (midsize) so you don't get stuck with a tiny little car. If they resist, tell your insurance agent to call them and raise a stink on your behalf. I did that before when my first Maxima got hit. They tried to give me a Geo and I ended up getting something bigger because I called my agent and had them work it out for me.

If you have some basic auto body skills, you could replace it yourself within 2 hours and save a lot of money. If not, a body shop could probably get it done within a few days (assuming that they only have to replace the bumper, and they get the parts quickly); depending on how busy they are.
Are you kidding? You'll get a rental car, you got hit in the back, it's the other driver's fault automatically. You "should always have control of your vehicle, under any circumstances", at least that's how it is in NY. Even if you slammed on your brakes on an empty road for no reason, and a person rear-ended you, it's their fault. Dont pay for anything, and have fun with the rentals he he. I speak from experience, and I'll never buy a car that was a "previous rental". Anyone see that skit from *******?
do it yourself save yourself the time but if its going to be done by their insurnace company because they were at fault get everything possible outta it because you pay to be covered get your rental, get your bumper fixed/any other spots you don't like on the car by the shop and have them bill the insurance company lol at least thats what I did but you have to find a shop willing to do this for you
