Question on LSD

No I'm not talking about those white powdery stuff.
Is traction control is another name for it ?
My understanding is that there are a few version or variations out there and each car manufacturer has their own version.
Can someone explain .......

They are two different systems-->

Traction controls uses the one or more of the following to reduce engine speed or apply the brakes to reduce slip: ignition, fuel or abs system. Read the following link to read more about LSD: LSD basicly appplies more power to from the wheels that slip to the wheel that's gripping. Search is another feature that will yield lotsa info.

LSD isn't white and powdery. It's a clear liquid.
